The video shows the rhine crossing between Xanten and Bislich in March 1945. In the beginning we see the Digger-Bridge also called Xanten Tactical Bridge, at the end the Draghunt-Bridge at Wardt.

Doing Old Man's diary ('45, book 1). Seems he crossed on Friday April 27 going through Xanten. Although he'd been back and forthover the rhine several times before. He was mainly involved with ''No 10 equipment'' (scissor type bridge ) From diary: ''Xantem is in a terrible mess; one can’t imagine what the town looked like after a battle has waged in it without seeing it oneself; heaps and heaps of rubble; bricks, timber, furniture, dust, but …. and …. everywhere; trees just mere stumps; the place needs clearing completely and every building built again''
