Multiflora Rose and Japanese Barberry - Invasive species removal using mini excavator

Using the mini-excavator with thumb (Takeuchi TB235-2) and the John Deere 2210 to remove the Multiflora Rose and Japanese Barberry invasive species that have been growing and overtaking the edge of the yard against the woods line of our property. I've brush hogged these down before with the Ford 8N, but wanted to see if the excavator and thumb would do better - by pulling them out by the roots. And I'll burn this pile. The other nice thing about using the excavator, is that the bucket and thumb can compact the mess of jaggers and thorns into a smaller pile, and you don't get all cut up trying to move it around. I did discover that it is still necessary to rake the work area - because lots of thorns and pieces fall off of the shrubs when you're compressing them with the thumb.
