We had red ear sliders in my local pond growing up. I now keep a diamondback terrapin and a musk turtle as well as fish. Really cool

Well, this was quite informative. I too grew up on Dunlin Drive until I was 12 when I moved nearer the Boat House. I wish I recognised you but it's likely I knew your dad rather than yourself as I was 12 in 1977!. Later in life I moved to London to work and was there 15 years or so but I'm back in Irlam looking after my dad. I've taken up fishing again so I like to get on the Old River as much as possible. I've known of the terrapins in the lake for about the last 20 years and often used to photograph them when I came home for a visit and took my dad for a pint in the Boat House. That large one has been sunning itself on that very same log for at least 20 years that I know of. I was surprised to learn that we had Kingfishers. I've not noticed any. Saw plenty in the Norfolk Broads this summer as well as the usual herons, cormorants, geese and ducks. I'll have to keep an eye out when next fishing. Thanks for the video. Best of luck.

So your 100 percent certain they can't breed here? I'm unsure this summer we had the hottest summer on record for a long time 38D. Not only tht but if theres no colony's then I don't see how they can survive here if they can't re produce. they would have to adapt in both ways and I don't see how they would in one way but not the other when coming to breeding. Very interesting non the less
