Definitely seeing a growing number of these old school watches and I'm down for it. Honestly this looks so great and if I wasn't cutting back this year I'd definitely grab one.

Nice review, well documented and perfect narration! I got the very same watch at Kickstarter last year and I love to wear it. I did not have time to do a review but your video is a good inspiration. Regards

I have a real trench watch given to me about 45 years ago from a WWI vet. It looks very similar to the white watch presented in this video.

A number of dirty dozen style sub-seconds watches out right now. This is nice - although my favorite right now is the Baltany ... San Martin is also supposed to make a very nice very inexpensive quartz variant. I get the trench warfare story and look - especially on the bund (even though historically inaccurate as you point out) ... other than that not sure of the difference between this trench style and sub-seconds style. Definitely enjoyed the history/story.

The Baltany is very nice, they also do some great colour ways

@@LastWatch I've actually bought the Baltany to check out my competition and I think the horology world can squeeze in another dime in the dozen this year!

@@LastWatch Possibly this year but with a slight twist so it's not going to be a reproduction.

Waited 40 years for this...Enamel dial...and they could not have got those catherdral hands any more perfect!👍If the black arabic outline and railroad track are fired into the dial, that would be amazing...would be interested to know the process he used. If I was to have 'a last' watch it would be this, or Baltany's 1926 Oyster Tribute - breathtaking...thanks and ...peace.

I may have to get the Baltany in for review

Good looking watch, this one too small for my tastes but will certainly look at the bigger one. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻

In these days of bigger watches, a bund strap upsizes the smaller designs from the past.

I guess it’s a good way of getting smaller watches on bigger wrists

The Santos was the first aviation watch. Not the first wrist watch.

It’s a grey area open to interpretation

If you can find an earlier "aviation watch" other than the Santos I would be interested in hearing about it. I do not believe their is any interpretation on which was the first. Thank you for the video and your response.
