Corpuls CPR still needs more work, it's a great idea, just that there are a lot of safety concerns about something like that pushing down too hard and killing the person that needs CPR

ROFL. People wouldn't even put on a 50 cent mask to save a life during the pandemic. Some people wouldn't even live with the mild unpleasantness of wearing a free one to save a life. I agree with you but man there are a lot of people who really just dgaf about teh lives of others.

There are a number of flame resistant materials out there. Some melt instead of igniting but some also have high heat tolerance. It could be made out of one or more of these.

If that escape chute is anything like an aircraft's escape ramp/raft, I'm concerned you'll get scorched from the friction as you slide down it.

Thanks for the advice. I think, if I am ever in a building (or a plane) that's on fire, I will weigh up the risk issues- getting a friction burn from the chute or dying in the fire.

Testing buildings in Earthquakes has been going on for at least 50 years. The building codes in Earthquake prone areas are a bit different.

my understanding is, based on the tests, worst case scenario, you have 15 minutes of head & respiratory protection before the system declines or fails.

Why have a tornado shelter in the garage where the house can fall on the garage trapping the residents inside the shelter. I have seen old photos (1940s, 1950s, Kansas?) where the family ran to a shelter dug in the garden.
