An excellent demo. Once experienced, felling, snedding the branches, cutting the desired lengths. no more than 2 mins. per tree

i will say they go into more detail then I ever got. MNy trainings was here is the chain saw this is the direction we want the tree to fall. I have a lot of hours one the other working of a crosscut saw before we got a gas powere saw. so i guess they figures I knowe what I was doing. If I was not doing it right I had someone to inform me what I was doing wrong. Thanks for a very good movie. I each country does things diffrent then we do here in the USA.

Don't start your saw at the same location that you fuelled it at either. Surely your assessor would expect you to move 5 metres from your fuelling location. Or have standards changed recently?

a good point, I wonder tho if it helps that when fueling they where using a nozzle that helps against spilling any fuel and perhaps that meets the standards as well

Not impressed. Like a beaver with cuts everywhere. On a tree that size?

Don't blame all European countries. It's Germany where they carve toothpick sized softwoods like a totem. And this one was filmed in Netherlands I think. I live in Finland and I've always paid a fixed price per tree including all the limbing and such.

Really ? The lenght of the fibers at the hinghe indicates the width is way too much, but for the rest and about safety it s a nice education video> Should be promoted more!

Hello Eric, thanks for your response! This video is made to show people how an average ECC2-exam works. Small mistakes such as a hinge that is left too thick can happen because the candidate is nervous. As long as safety rules are not violated, this is fine. There will be a remark of course in the evaluation. Crucial factors have to be OK though, for example the two sink cuts have to meet in one line perpendicular to the felling direction. If you have any more questions or comments, we are glad to hear them. Kind regards, The Inverde team

That was the most over engineered project I have ever seen. I get that they are teaching safety fundamentals but when they started making those crazy low cuts ,kind of lost me there. Why work so low to the ground bending over/ Not ergonomic. Make the felling cut right below waist high in the zone you dont have to bend over and you can see what is going on. All being said, tree came down , no one got hurt and that is all that matters. eh

You cut as low as possible to maximise timber value, if you cut at waist height you lose timber.

I can understand maximizing timber and not losing any. When I am cutting trees for firewood or to drop them out of safety concerns, that's a different thing than worrying about making money on the lumber .Usually most trees here in Pa are hardwood and the trees are gnarly and very thick trunks that are like giant knots. Mostly unusable for anything. I just think that bending over to cut flush at the ground is gonna ruin your back, not very ergonomic . I do realize ,that was a training video. I seriously doubt anyone goes thru all that when they are really felling trees. It would be impossible in the real world!

@@gregr1672 The training has to cater to everyone from people cutting for firewood to people cutting commercial lengths. So they need to teach you how to do everything.
