Ikaika actually dodged a bullet because these guys were robbed blind by Lou because of their awful contract. they even made fun of him for being careful LOL
@NicoleBrinker8752 жыл бұрын
I'll be straight up with you; Ikaika should have went home with Mike, Paul and Bryan and then the others could have easily called Dan right away.

Jacob's arrogance is unbelievable, threatening to leave a group that he hadn't even MADE yet. It's hilarious looking back on his empty threats. I actually felt bad for Ikaika, it seemed he was being pulled in a million different directions, was dealing with obvious family pressures, and he was struggling with how to please everyone. He made the right decision leaving the group - obviously he knew something that the others didn't because the others were robbed blind in the end. Including Jacob.

I don’t. He really dodged a bullet. O Town are now a has been boyband who got screwed over.
@drummingdanny8412 жыл бұрын
Me, too. Ikaika was trying to figure himself out while he was away. It's not he was out in Washington, DC like Dylan was or doing "Hairspray" like Aubrey did while the other girls were on tour. He was putting things in perspective and clearing his head. He's not concerned about fame and prestige, he just wants to know for himself if he's making the right decisions.
@rockymypug14 жыл бұрын
Gotta respect Ikaika for turning his back on the whole boy band thing once he found out what it was all about. No one can blame him for what he did. He chose his own path in life and at least now he doesn't have to bear the burden of being a boy band has been. Life is very good when you live in Hawaii.

I'll never understand why Ikaika was chosen over Mike. Yeah, Ikaika was in a odd position but that spot should have been given to someone whose only dream was to be an entertainer. Not someone who ummed and arred over it for a long time.
@mikejessmax14 жыл бұрын
@rockymypug funny cause HE WAS in a boyband called LMNT with Bryan & Mike. They had one hit: "Hey Juliet".

@slevinbaddog You're SOOOO RIGHT! I agree with you and every word you have written.. He did not deserve to be in the band and he was a pain in the ass totally!
@TheLeah23444 жыл бұрын
It’s ironic that O Town is only known for one song. I’m 24 and I was real young when they first came out. A lot of young people only know one song by them while BSB and Nsynch are known as the most iconic boybands of all time and even kids today know them. Also Ikaika really dodged a bullet.

Paul left a few episodes ago.He said if I am not mistaking that the band is not what he wanted at the moment so left.

Ikaika was in a rough position. He was the only guy educated enough to know that contract was horrible, but he was too young and nice to really stand up for himself. He made the right call though.
@davidcurameng5 жыл бұрын
Agreed man. I sided with the other 6 when I watched this as a kid. As an adult? I totally see Ikaika's point of view. If he had that missing layer, ideally all 8 guys (including Paul) would've fought for better terms on their contract. (All pie in the sky though because...Lou Pearlman. -_-)

It's funny to watch this 10 years later knowing how everything turned out in the end. Paul was a JERK, but he made the right decision. Ikaika...it's so obvious that his heart is not in this band and I can't blame him. O-Town got screwed and they were just another flash in the pan. He's better off as a doctor.

LOL what a bunch of softies. Ikaika didn't force his way into the studio. The producer asked him to, be mad at him. Welcome to the entertainment industry, it's not fair!

Precisely. What did they want Ikaika to do? Say no to the producer? Idiots.

@mikejessmax14 жыл бұрын
Ikaika never wanted to do this. His family would've ruined his career because it sounded like they all wanted to be supported by him & not have to work at all. They would've turned greedy as hell & lived lavishly while he'd b working like a dog & not have anything. I really hope he became a Dr. & that he married Malia & then learned to keep his family on a leash so they won't leech off him & his hard earned $

Mike was so gorgeous, all that smooth chocolate brown skin and big white teeth. He would NOT have fit a "boyband". One of the commentators suggested a group such as Boyz2Men or something like that and I agree that would have been perfect.

Ikaika was the biggest joke ever! Daddy and big brother telling him what to do, and Dan was a much better 5th member than someone who couldn't even give a crap about dancing.

@6wmcgriff I never said he couldnt *sing* .... he can sing alright! I just personally dont think he deserved the spot in the *first place* to be in the band, for the same reasons jacob, erik and the rest of the band named, he couldnt even take a dump without asking his brother, this guy has no balls whatsoever and tried to be a "leader", it was soo hypocritical!
@slevinbaddog14 жыл бұрын
@6wmcgriff Got me there,still doesnt excuse Ikaika's behaviour! He shouldve never been in the band in the first place, he felt like he could do whatever he wanted he's at home just chilling in Hawaii doing god knows what (most likely his gf) while the boys are working their asses off!The boys even confronted him about how they didnt feel like he deserved a spot in the band! The only thing he was good for was the in coming of Dan, if he had never chosen to leave we wouldve never had Dan!
@slevinbaddog14 жыл бұрын
@6wmcgriff I understand what your getting at but thats not what im trynna say, it doesnt matter if he had other commitments, he didnt even wanna give a legit reason as to why he had to leave all he had was his lawyer and his brother telling him what to do, the guys begged him to atleast stay for the photoshoots and he still left for wtvr reason, he had no problem making another band himself not long after, it didnt make sense I feel like without Ikaika, Dan woulda been there sooner.
@slevinbaddog14 жыл бұрын
@rockymypug umm...your kidding right? you do know that ikaika not long after all this started his own band with bryan and mike called "LMNT" look it up. I never personally liked ikaika..i agree with all the boys he didnt deserve to even be picked in the first place.
@slevinbaddog14 жыл бұрын
@6wmcgriff uh huh....and yet he still managed to form another group months later? Yeah im not buying it! Ikaika can no doubt sing, but he was a complete pain in the ass good effing riddance!!!
