I know it's already been said many, many times with the same reasoning by now, but this AU shows what you get when a bunch of dedicated fans who actually understand and analyzed the characters, come together and go all out with creativity and a strive for quality: You get an unforgettable and impressive story with lots of charm, a phenomenal soundtrack, awesome characters and where to even begin with Asriel here... a very enjoyable and competent villain who knows exactly how to make you both love and hate him at the same time (hate, because his list of horrible sins just keeps going and going, thanks to Chara's and Frisk's initial failure, like the huge backstabber two episodes ago), while having such a tragic backstory... Kudos to all the writers, composers and artists, I can't wait to see how the two humans will fare in the twisted god's playground!

If Gaster doesn't play a role in this at some point it would be a missed opportunity imo, but also understandable since it would be a bit cliche. From what I've read he has some presence through the hidden docs but that's the extent of it.

Gaster is a character I try to handle with a lot of restraint, if that makes sense. He is given some details in places like the Mage's journal in part 50 as well as Skeletons in the Closet giving a background to how he got shattered across time and space, but he's an entity I handle with a LOT of caution and I handle in a way that differs from a lot of people. For instance, the "void" is not a thing- IF Gaster is literal time confetti whose presence is everywhere and nowhere at once. Some fragments exist, like the one held by Follower 2, redacted, and Mystery Man, but Mystery Man himself is not gaster in IF. How much or how little Gaster factors in is a good question. That being said, you can get some Gaster dialogue if you nohit Downward SPIRAL.

@@Dorked Thank you for the reply, it's very understandable that you would like to have a lot of restraint with them for a plethora of reasons. From what I can gather now it seems like Gaster himself won't necessarily appear, but stuff related to him may appear in the waterfall/hotland sections as whats being set up soon, I don't think it's going to be a straight path to asriel. Very excited for part 3 and I will continue to speculate from here

It was never an excess of power that caused the old world's destruction- it was him not having a good GRIP on that power and a lack of control causing things to get a lil' funky. Now he is working his way up. Getting a feel for his god-like abilities before he goes all out.

There seems to be some confusion, so let me clarify: That is not Mettaton at the end of the video. That is Robot 98 and 100. The Cool Dude they mention is not Papyrus. It's Cool Dude, one of the season dudes that appeared in the CORE. The Snowman was placed inside of the Cool Dude body, with its central AI removed. But they hint to what became of that AI.

YES. This. I really don't like when people just... separate Asriel from Flowey, or treat them like two separate people. Like they just forgot about what Asriel wanted to do in pacifist. The fact that he looks like a goat instead of a flower doesn't erase the things he's done, or the things he's planning to do. I'm excited to see more of IF Asriel, because he's the only AU Asriel that's truly able to show all the things that make him my favourite character, both here and in Undertale. (sorry for such a long reply)

Lots of people in the fandom are aware of this, and nowadays I've only seen a few people seeing him as a sweet cinnamon roll. But don't get me wrong, him being the antagonist is great because he's done so well here and even in the base game, but there's nothing wrong with exploring how he could be if he was back to his old self again

Inverted Fate strives to remove any possible separation between Flowey and Asriel that some in the fandom do by showing they are one person who has simple undergone a lot of trauma and negative character development. He isn't irredeemable, but right now he IS the villain and him being Asriel again isn't going to change that so easily.

I hope that when Inverted Fate reached it's end, that the entire comic if possible gets dubbed, so that people could choose to watch the comic dub here or read the comic on the official site. This has grown into one of my favorite AU's of all time. An stellar soundtrack, great, lovable and well written characters, an compelling story, cool new areas and awesome boss fights, with Flowey, both Mecha Undyne boss fights and Toriel as my favorite bosses. Voice acting here whenever it has voice acting is spot on and fits the characters like a glove. Splendid job to everyone involved in Inverted Fate. Your hard work earned you my sub. I love the relationship between Chara and Frisk in this AU. The evolution has felt so natural; you understand where each is coming from, why they feel a certain way, and so on. That's quite a feat in storytelling so kudos on that.

Alright. Let's try to give some of my thoughts. So. The Angel's Promise is still my favourite chapter... but now it's not the only one. This one skyrocketed up there with it and i now have two favourite chapters. This was GOOD. Like, really, REALLY good. I literally had chills through the entire thing. This is an amazing chapter, and Inverted Fate as a whole is an amazing AU. Thanks to everyone who worked on this for this experience.

This looks like a lot of walking, but the two player style works well! There are a lot of great touches in how the Ruins were changed, but imo they're bested by Frisk's Buster making a scenic debut. :)

Yeah, something I think can be lost in the sea of epic battles is that Undertale has a lot of long stretches of atmosphere and ambience. Things like Waterfall with the signs telling the tragic tale, and True Lab's reports.

@@Dorked True, though it was mixed up a little more often. The echo flowers - my favorite lore section - still had random encounters through much of it at minimum, and the lab reports were split apart by both keys and encounters.

There will still be more of that lonely wandering in null_3, but there are some COOL setpieces and scary flourishes that I think will get people really excited. :) And from the end of part 3 onward, things will pick up a lot. We just needed a "cooldown" chapter, if that makes sense.

Oh wow I really like this creppy and some what calm atmosphere Asriel leaving those signs knowing that only Chara and Frisk will read them. Also I wasn't expecting to see the robots again There may be other monsters still out there too I also like how Asriel and Flowey are still the same person, compare to how the fandom portraits them as being diferent people Also something else that I liked, normally in other stories when the villain has all the power or has the winning hand, they never kill or significantly injure the protagonist, when it would be the perfect time to do it. But here, at least there is a good reason, Asriel could care less that Frisk is alive, he only lets them be there because Chara asked him to, and he wants their approval and friendship more than anything. Also, also, Chara is so cool with their fire magic, wonder how they learn that Oooh, I'm exited for the next update! Which is in 15/10 Wonder how dark things will get hehe
