Inverted flight for Beginners ! FlyWing FW450L-V3 'SMART' RC Helicopter

Having seen Jason fly the FW450 it was time for me to have a go!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Prior to flight we switched off 'low battery protection' because of the cold weather. Voltage detection does not work well on cold days and this heli will go into automatic return to home if it detects low voltage. For this heli it would climb to 10 metres as part of the return to home process. If you do this please ensure you time your flight to minimise chances of damaging the flight battery by taking cell voltages below 3.7 volts.

After about 10 years of not flying helis (fixed pitch only) this would be a fantastic re-introduction. Unfortunately, I can not justify the cost. Might stretch go for a Blade 230 Smart.

That’s really good Dom, that is certainly having fun. Agree this hobby is about the fun and this is a great Heli to start off, in my eyes. Great stuff. 🫡

It looked very close to the trees near the beginning and I was half expecting disaster but both heli and Dom came through with flying colours. I thought the circles and figure 8s looked a bit bigger than in the earlier videos when I felt they were too tight - seemed better this time. Did you try the auto manoeuvres whilst inverted?

Did not try the auto maneouvres while inverted as says in the manual will not do that. Maybe in future version of the software. I don't see why not.

It's not cheating but having the controls being all swapped in different orientations is going to really mess people up when they try on another heli

Part 4 of 3 🤔 seems essentialrc needs some essential arithmetic lessons 😂 good to see something getting people into the declining hobby of heli’s. Hopefully gives people the bug to enjoy this end of the hobby.

Is there anyway to calibrate the compass without using a PC? I was calibrating it indoors with my desktop but would like to do it outdoors!

In GPS mode the switch to Invert will only work if you have enabled it in the software. Download it from FlyWing website and connect via USB lead to heli. Read the manual as well 🙄
