Pundits love to hear themselves pontificate about the market. Problem is, it's mostly useless because nobody can anticipate what happens next. Always best to teach people how to become better investors so they can navigate the investing world with more success. I love that the title of the dxyz video you did is akin to what many financial click bait channels would post just to get views, yet when you posted something like that it was entirely accurate and grounded in stats. This channel is a cheat code for retail investors, thank you for what you do

You're most welcome. We have to post clickbait thumbs and titles (though they're never misleading) because that's unfortunately what it takes to grow a channel. Providing high quality content consistently over time differentiates our channel from all the talking heads popping up. :)

@@Nanalyze Understood, the algorithm game is inevitable and I hope you realize the growth you deserve. Quick follow up question on dxyz if you’re willing; do you think it’s worth allocating a very small (
@Nanalyze5 ай бұрын
Most publicly-traded funds holding startups trade at a discount to NAV. We've observed that across the board. You can get the NAV for DXYZ from their latest filings. It probably will be delayed, but it's still a start. Then compare that to the current price and calculate the premium you're paying. It should be minimal otherwise you're overpaying for assets. Since that asset has settled we may take another look at it later in the context of the fund itself as opposed to the overvaluation problem which - though it ma be temporary - is a showstopper for us.

Is there a better alternative to Arks Private Investment Fund for non accredited investors?

That's a really good question. So the closest thing we're aware of would be publicly traded funds with startup exposure such as the ones covered here: www.nanalyze.com/2022/10/venture-capital-stocks/

1. Is it possible that space X or Open AI will go public concurrently and independently of this fund? If and when that happens , how will it affect this stock? 2. How many times has this ARKVX fund closed? 3. Does SOFI allow you to do this in a Roth? 4. In how many years do you think k this might be liquid? I wish Twitter was a higher percentage. I really only want to invest in Space X, but I may do this, if Sofi lets me. Thank you for doing a video on this.
@Nanalyze3 ай бұрын
If/when a startup goes public the fund typically exits though ARK could keep it in as a publicly-traded stock. This is an open fund. No idea on what Sofi allows to be honest. It will be on ongoing thing it seems.

My issue is by the time most of these big hype, tech start ups nowadays get to public markets a good 50% of their gains or more have been made privately by VC’s and PE they end up going public at insanely high valuations. You see it a lot whether it be well known companies like Uber & Airbnb or unprofitable AI start ups like Astera Labs or Tempus. People forget Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia & Apple all IPO’d at valuations under one billion dollars, this is why early investors have enjoyed 100,000% plus ROI’s, yet people now buy shit like Snowflake going public at a 33 billion dollar market cap thinking they’ll get the same kind of result lol
@Nanalyze5 ай бұрын
Snowflake is a strong SaaS company by all measures, so it's best to focus on valuation rather than market cap. It has always enjoyed a very rich valuation until recently. That's a good thing. We always want to be buying quality companies at cheap valuations. You can find examples that go both ways - names that have appreciated tremendously when compared to the IPO and names that haven't. Recent IPOs in the times of AI hype are going to show a lot more volatility than usual.
The problem is you can buy ARKVX only if you are US resident ..

I have no idea what the SpaceX balance sheet looks like but I can't imagine a universe (npi, no pun intended) where they could be overvalued. Musk gets something like 10x10^11 dollars to blow up experimental rockets. I've been an astronomy nerd since before the Columbia shuttle disintegrated. After that we paid the Russians which now has some obvious geopolitical caveats. So Musk seems like the only option at the moment which is ironic since 2/3rds of the current administration seem to hate the man. I know Amazon has a space project as well, I want to say Blue Ocean or something like that...This comment is having no point so I'll stop. Good video, I'd never heard of that Ark fund and it's weird that you can only get it through Sofi. I'm sure the Sofi bulls love that, although they've probably never heard of it considering they burned out their eyesight starring at their portfolio fluctuate.

Attention hoover that would do anything to be in the limelight? Complete psychopath who liked the thrill of manipulating others with such bold faced lies? What do you think her reasons were? She couldn't have been scamming for money because she would have to know it was going to be discovered.

Nice to have some funds to access VC investments. You never know when one of them might lotto ticket into the market. Very speculative, but nice to allocate some capital to VC if there is a way to do so.

The diversification effect is pretty appealing. 20X-plus moonshots will happen but the returns aren't that spectacular in the context of a broader fund.

Google owns 7.5 percent of Spacex as of Nov.2023.
@Nanalyze5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment. Please provide a source for this if you will (just reply, no links as YT blocks them). If it's the AS article then it states, "In 2008, Founders Fund invested $20 million in SpaceX, securing a 10.4% stake. Fidelity Investments also played a crucial role, investing $1 billion in 2015 and acquiring a 10.2% stake. Google, through its venture capital arm Google Ventures, joined the ranks in the same year with a $1 billion investment, claiming a 7.5% share." That says nothing about who owns what percentages today and we couldn't find anything concrete on this.
