The P-39 in photo-renaissance operations carried Kodak k-24 and/or Kodak k-25 cameras. These were electrically controlled. The contact prints were either 5x5 or 5x4, with really incredible resolution.

That brought back memories. My uncle Bill Jacobsen was from Fresno and flew P36s. He later transitioned to the new P38 and flew it in North Africa. He told me he didn’t like flying the P36 because you had to straddle the drive shaft/cannon.
