Warriors never feel guilt for taking any other class’ gear. Why should anyone feel guilty for taking “theirs”? It’s funny how people create a toxic atmosphere, then expect it not to be toxic when it comes to something they actually “need”. I melee almost every mob I kill at least once while leveling a hunter until the weapon skill is maxed for that level. Wing clip almost every mob if I’m killing a bunch of mobs in a small area, or runners. (Auto attacks chunk when they crit)

@@ryryjagoat9494 There are extremely few encounters in vanilla classic that require X amount of people to stand at range to prevent some sort of mechanic. Healer paladins are meleeing the entire fight, since that's how they regen mana. They judge wisdom and then melee for mana return on attacks, since you're not spamcasting heals for a full fight. It's why they have the rep of being the healers who never OOM. The mace being fast makes it even better for mana return. There's debate around people considering that mace hpal BiS even in Naxx. Shamans do it less, but nothing stops them from standing in melee range the whole fight with auto attack toggled on, scoring a hit between casts. You don't even lose cast time, since the character automatically hits between the casted spells. Neither healers or casters lose damage by standing in melee range.

It's rough, it's a bit of a prisoner dilemma type of situation. At first when playing Classic Wow, I also figured we'd first let the person who can and will actually use it need it. But after many runs, everyone automatically needed anything you could sell for a lot of gold on the AH. Patterns, Epics, Rares etc. After a multitude of times, you just start needing em too. There is no power that can stop a random person from pressing need. If all 'sportsmanship' players would fulfill their greed role, the selfish players would often get the item, fueling their behavior even more. It's an unwinnable battle is what I concluded eventually.

The reason there's a need and greed buttons is so that people who will use the item roll need, and those who just want it to sell can roll greed.

pala tanks are not a thing in classic because they can't taunt. same reason shamans aren't tanks in classic. outside of SoD, shamans and paladins cannot tank.
