Thanks for your very kind words, sweetie. Here are 2 strategies if you leave UK 1. Pension - You can transfer via QROPS to several banks in India. Its a time consuming process, but can be done quiet easily 2. ISA- close the account and take the money with you or leave the money invested and withdraw as you need.

Hi Jeena, Good morning! Hope you are doing well. I had a question regarding the private pension investment in UK via your company. In future if I plan to return back home( India) can I transfer/ withdraw the entire accumulated amount. It would be of great help if you could draw some light on this aspect. I tried searching for documentation on this topic online. I was unsuccessful in getting any insights on this topic specially. Kind regards!

Hi Sanchi. Hope you are well. I am fine thank you. Just enjoying a chilled out weekend. We are in a similar position too. My husband contributes to his pension via a limited company. You will have 3 options to withdraw your funds 1. Withdraw the whole amount and transfer the amount to different investment/ savings options in India. The big downside is Pension withdrawal is classed as income. So depending on your income tax band you will pay the taxes. So If your annual income is 150K plus you will pay 45% tax + national insurance 2. Transfer the pension fund as it is to an overseas pension fund. There are several big banks in India offering this service. They have information about this (QROPS) on the gov.uk website. 3. Leave the money invested here. And transfer the money annually or biannually. You will need to speak to an accountant both here and in India as there maybe some residency needs to be met for tax purposes. Hope this helps. This is an interesting subject. Think i will do a video about this soon.

Thanks, Bro. Very kind words. If you are saving for 1-2 years, it's not advisable to invest in the stock market. Savings accounts are paying 4-5% interest, which is pretty good for short term savings- look at chip bank. Also, if you are saving money each month, the look at a regular saver - first direct regular saver - is 7%.

@sivadasbalakrishnan5711 there are several options for transferring a pension to India. 1. Receive your pension in india- there are a few platforms that allow the pension to be received abroad ie AJ Bell, Interactive investor. It does not matter if you are not with this platform now, just need to move your pension to this platform before you leave the country- takes about 2 months for all the process. 2. You may just want to receive your pension fund to a nominated bank account here and transfer to India as you see fit- good idea if you plan on visiting here/ still have children in UK when you retire in India. 3. If you do not want to wait till retirement and want to transfer the funds to India- you can use Qrops transfer- lots of info on gov.uk. basically transfer to a bank with certain nominated funds in India.

@JeenaJoseTheMoneyMentor
@JeenaJoseTheMoneyMentor Жыл бұрын
Hi, you really shouldn't be investing money that you will need under 5 years. Since your time line is 2-3 yrs look at savings account, which (thanks to inflation) has a decent interest rate at the moment. The best options for you are regular savers if you are saving money each month- upto 7% interest and you can have multiple regular savers. The next option is to look at fixed 1 or 2 year savings- so money is locked for that period- like our FD's in India. The final option is just a normal savings- rates are over 3% at present. I just look at martin lewis website for the best buy tables. I have done a similar video on saving money for the short term- kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6GxoqOEmrhlmKs. Good luck.

@JeenaJoseTheMoneyMentor Жыл бұрын
Oh, also, look at LISA again. There is a lot of bad press at the minute as the Max house price with LISA is 450k. Since the house prices have gone up quite significantly recently, the LISA has not gone up to reflect this. The 450k is mainly a problem if you are looking to buy in the South of England. The rest of the UK will mostly be ok..

@@JeenaJoseTheMoneyMentor in terms of the currency arguments that can be negated by investing in pms which invest in usd terms from Dubai and give you return on usd terms. Also it is passive. Passive in uk cannot compete with passive in emerging markets. A lot of pms have 26 percent CAGR compared to the measly 6 to max 10 percent in uk. A 26 percent CAGR over 20 years is 128x times money whereas at 7 percent it takes 10 years to double money. There is just no argument for investing in the uk in my humble opinion.

@@JeenaJoseTheMoneyMentor pms investment is better In my opinion because they have a concentrated group of highly researched stocks which have a much higher chance of growing your wealth than indexing because indexing blindly allocated money to 100 of stocks that means even if you have one stock which goes 100x and assuming even if the remaining are at 0 return net net even then the portfolio goes up by just 2x and it may not be enough to beat inflation.
