A robust strategy is crucial for any investor's portfolio. When it comes to making high-stakes decisions, the greater the risk, the greater the potential reward, and it's wise to seek guidance from seasoned professionals.

I thought the same - it is funny how he says simple questions, yet they sound anything but simple! I am doing my CFA and these questions seem rather exam questions (well almost!)
@celletoronto2 жыл бұрын
CFA doesn’t guarantee that your profile is a fit for investment banking. A key thing to supplement your CFA is to take extensive financial modelling courses (advanced Excel, DCF’s, etc.) - Wall Street Prep and Breaking Into Wall Street are examples of programs you can explore re: improving your financial modelling so that you could be considered “strong technically.”

why are interviews so robotic. there is a set of questions and a set of correct questions, who ever is honest will not get the job because they are only looking for the answers they want. it is not a math question that has exactly one answer... I find it quite backwards
@aequinox46735 жыл бұрын
It's not. With all due respect, if you paid attention, you'd have heard how they ask behavioral questions to assess not only your reasoning for going into Banking, but also you as a personality, at the very beginning. The reason they ask so many technical questions is to assess whether you have a considered interest in Banking to the point that you have committed the time to learning about it, not to mention that they want to assess that you're able to do the work.
@ZDY666665 жыл бұрын
what? its literally the opposite of being robotic. These videos are only generic guidelines to give you a glimpse of the thinking process and help you understand the flow of how you should be processing some of the questions as well
@emanibrahim13635 жыл бұрын
@@ZDY66666 well I've gone through a few interviews during my day and almost every time I googled the questions and the questions were pretty much spot on what the interviewer asked. and if you bothered reading which ones got the job and which ones didn't and write your answers accordingly you'd know what to say ahead of the time.

Amazing content I'll be purchasing your course to get ready for the graduate programmes for these banks. I have one video idea and one question. Could you make a video on the difference between first round interviews and second, third or fourth round interviews please. Secondanly, I have never had an internship as I need to work full time in my current situation etc. Do I still have a chance of getting a graduate role? Or shall I not even bother? I am extremely passionate and am in my final year of Finance. (really want to be an investment analyst, love everything about it. Even the 100hour work weeks).

@habibbialikafe3394 жыл бұрын
you open the vid by saying ib is one of the hardest interviews but that is only in finance. any type of coding interview is gonna be harder imo. also, you mention the 2% statistic, but that isnt interviewees who make it through, that is total applicants. probably only 6% of applicants even get an interview, so once you are at that stage, it really is not that bad.

Why do you adjust shareholders equity when dep goes up. I know thats not the purpose of the video, and sorry for asking. Can't find anything to justify this, I would assume that cash would increase but also accum dep would increase which is an intra balanace sheet account which is negative that would balance the balance sheet.
@naasirramjaun64145 жыл бұрын
Dep is an expense which affects the net income -> the additional net income or reduction will flow through to shareholders equity (assuming no dividend payout) . I would recommend you take the financial modelling course which goes through all of this step-by-step ➡️:bit.ly/2MEIZvf
@ShubhamSharma-bl9lf5 жыл бұрын
depreciation is a kind of reserve. when u adjust depreciation with profit and loss account i.e indirectly with shareholder's equity, you are basically booking loss in your profit and loss account which hasn't even happened to just to secure enough profits proportianately every year so that when the assets get tampered you have enough profits to go for new assets. thats why we adjust dep with equity.

Interviews are always an unmatched fight with a very over powered opponent. It like a toddler vs Mohd Ali in a boxing ring. If a candidate took out his/her time to prepare, travel all the way to office and spend hours in waiting in que, that means the candidate is serious about the job. It should not matter if the candidate is unable to answer few questions, the mentors should guide post hiring. But the sad part is it's completely driven by how strong is your reference and most of the time it's gender specific (p.s: male candidates get the big blow always)

The most important thing to stress, is that it's IMPOSSIBLE to get into IB without an MBA or DBA from a top 10 B-school.

That is not true... maybe back in the old days... I had opportunity to network with some of Ubs and Jp morgan m&a and asset management. They all have different background with some have regular degree from low universities. Some Ib now even offer apprenticeship route.

V P 100% correct, IB’s also stress they love applicants who achieve highly from low level schools (not that there are many) for the independence it demonstrates and the fact that you can achieve regardless of the environment you are in.
