Love this. I got my 8926 with the coin edge bezel in early 2009. I was in the Navy, deployed to Iraq with my Marines and my Casio Gshock LCD stopped working from the heat I guess. I dug my invicta prodiver from my pack and wore it. Broke the band and put it on a NAR turniquette and wore it the rest of the deployment. Chipped the cyclops, scratched the hell out of it worked flawlesly. Here we are, 14 years later and I still put it on and take it out for a good beating.

Also a military to civilian guy myself, retired Air Force. I bought the current Invicta Pro Diver watch last year during a Prime Day special for $59... ridiculously cheap considering that I have straps that cost that much. I was quite surprised by the quality for the price. I shook my watch for a week before I discovered that it had hand winding. It also hacks, which is a must have for me. The level of accuracy is equal to or better than many of my multi-hundred dollar watches from the big named companies. If I could change one thing, it would be to get rid of that garish "INVICTA" etched into the side... a little too much "look at me" for my taste, but for the price it's a small sacrifice. Anyone that laughed at these watches without actually seeing one should do the sub-hundred dollar experiment and own a true no cares adventure watch that you can freely wear in hazardous conditions without fear. I have no regrets from my $60 investment.

I’ve modded, sold, destroyed and gifted many 40mm automatic Invicta Pro Divers. My first automatic was an auto pro diver - purchased in 2009. I was not aware the Submariner existed at the time. I loved the submariner design language. Several years ago, it was extremely difficult to find a better value packed watch under $100. The Chinese have caught up. While these are great, the Invicta 1953 released in 2020 is a better watch. I have both. Despite owning watches that cost a lot more, I will always have one in my collection.

Nice review! When I was going for the submariner look on a beer budget in 2010, I ended up getting the Invicta 9937OB - the version with the sapphire crystal and the Swiss Sellita SW200 movement. I've replaced the aluminum bezel insert a number of times, and I've brushed the bracelet with green Scotchbrite several times. 13 years later that watch is still going strong - it looks great, keeps solid time, and it still has a decent power reserve. I have an 8926 that I got in 2008. It has the SII NH25 movement. In 2019 it started to run slow and I tweaked the adjustment. Still runs well, no service since its more for that than buying another. The watch that bugs me is my Heuer 844 Monnin French made that needs to be serviced once again. The last time a "certified" Rolex service center cleaned and adjusted it and it only stayed running for 2 years after that. Incredible that the Invicta seems like a better value considering the price and how it runs despite my neglect.

@@zumalot how bad is the situation with cheap watch service in the US? In Moscow it'll be about 40-50$ for full repassage (not in a fancy service centre, but still) and nearly anyone won't refuse servicing Seiko, Miyota, Orient movements. Just curious

@@thewhalenorman I cannot find a watchmaker in my area except jewelry stores, at least who I would trust breaking down/re-assembling any of my watches. The quick answer is "I don't know". My next service will be headed off to Omega for a "speedy" service. I'm guessing $700-$1000, but have not checked for alternatives. I once trusted a very nice older gentleman, self taught, with a glowing reputation. $250 for a full Rolex DJ service. The watch still runs, but sometimes the stem positions is not exact for manual winding, setting date (quickset). You get what you pay for I suppose. A jewelry store watchmaker charged $750 for another Rolex DJ. $300 for a vintage Seiko with probably a $25 auto movement, but there was sentimental value involved, rare dial..etc. I'll never go back because of a very nice 1966 Breitling Top Time. $800 + given back to me with a big crack on the crystal and he acted like I wasn't going to see it. He did fix it after a few encouraging words from me. One really needs to perform a hard target search within the states for great/cheaper service. Sorry, I'm not much help. They are one of the biggest watch sellers in the world. For the money they simply can't be beaten. Everyone likes to talk about the comically large watches, the whimsical kids watches like "Joker"... They make watches for everyone in every shape and size and price point. I own about 30 of them and they're all great. They also don't gouge people like "luxury" brands do. The only time you should pay a premium for something is if it does something better. Luxury watches don't look better, keep time better... You're paying to have your ego stroked.

I want to buy the quartz version of this watch as my first "nice" watch. Didn't really wear watches before probably used to have a couple 10 dollar ones ages ago. The thing is I almost feel bad for wanting to buy an Invicta because apparently everyone hates this brand in watches community for reasons I can't understand. Also I feel like people would judge me for wanting the quartz one. I just don't want to set the time every once in a while because I'm not gonna wear it everyday and I want it to be accurate all the time. Is this even bad? I've bought 4 san martins. 2 were good. 1 had a terrible bezel misalignment and one had terrible finishing on the sides of the case. I've spent nearly a grand with them and their track record isn't great with me. I know they have a solid fan base and I can see why. I actually took off the bracelet from the Tudor clone and put it on my omega seamaster. that bracelet was borderline rolex quality. then I get another one in and its bracelet had sharp edges. not enough consistent QC for me to support the brand with full confidence. But if you've had good luck I am very happy. I think in a year if they keep pursuing original designs and clean up their QC then they'll be a formidable force and a legit micro brand. I've had 3 Phoibos watches in costing slightly more and they walk all over San Martin from a design, finishing, and QC standpoint. Just my experience though.

my wife wants me to get my nephew, a seaman in philippines, an automatic diver like mine. i expect to be wearing mine until the end of my life. with an automatic, you kind of need to settle down with one watch. i am not sure if a lack of maintenance could take it before a dead battery does. (i expect that for him, it might be to expensive to take it to a jeweler on a philippine income.) but yeah.... so what if Invicta makes a lot of crazy watches. maybe they don't even sell, and are like models going down the runway... just showing off deign tech skill.

What you pay for a watch has absolutely nothing to do on the actual quality of the item as a time telling tool. I have a 30 year old Citizen quartz (analog chronograph) and a 24 years old Casio quartz (analog+digital). The Citizen was a $150 new and the Casio cost the outrageous fortune of $35. The only service these have received over the decades are new batteries and new straps. Both are still running. One hand on the Citizen chronograph doesn’t work. Of course the better watch is the Casio. 100% of its features and functions still work. The Citizen runs at +2 seconds per month. The Casio runs at -1.5 seconds per month. My Omega Seamaster came after these two…and now is long gone…

It's amazing how long these last if you keep them in the box and dont wear them around where the contact-cemented bezel can fall off or the stem or crystal can fall out.

I have the Kermit Grand Diver, which is a little bigger at 47mm, and upgraded Seiko NH35 movement. Love this watch. But for the rest of the Invicta monstrosities, lol. They are a hard pass. Plus my Grand Dive unlike the new Inivcta pro divers, mine has the yellow rotor on the back, where invicta is cheeping out and not putting the yellow rotor on anymore.

I have a green bezel kermit grand diver also! I bought mine about a year and a half ago to have something other than my g-shock to wear since i got a promotion at work. Absolutly love it, esp the way it glitters in the sun. Cheers🍻

I'm not an Invicta fan but I do own two of them. A Titanium Pro Diver and the black bezel 1953 diver. These are the only two Invicta's I will probably ever buy. The Pro Divers are nice watches for the money.

It's funny that you say Invicta gets hate for their Star Wars and Marvel stuff. I know it's true, but if it weren't for their Disney ties, I probably wouldn't ever visit the Invicta website it all. Funny enough, my only Invicta is a Mickey Mouse Pro Diver in all black (with the rotating Mickey arms for hours & minutes). I'll be pretty happy if it lasts 18 years or more.

I look for smaller less ostentatious invictas that are quartz and really love them more than some of the more accepted brands. However I have bad experiences with all automatic invictas I’ve had so I stay away from those. For affordable automatic I really like my orient

After 18 yrs, probably just needs a service to correct the power reserve issue and you'll be good for another 18 yrs. Those Citizen and Miyota movements are workhorses.

Why do so many people ”hate” Invictas. That is a bit extreme, I don’t like so many Invictas and wouldn’t have some of the more gaudy ones, even for free, but in all honesty I cannot “hate” them, that’s a bit OTT.

I’ll start by saying I think the watch is good, it looks nice and seems to be value for money, however, it needs a service and that is going to be an issue and cost more than you’d like. I these kind of watches are like an itchy fog, they stop you from seeing and and saving for the watch you really should get by scratching an itch.

I am looking to buy a Pro Diver for daily use, including Scuba diving. Does anyone have experience of this watch with actual diving, and are there any common issues with this watch in regards to diving?
