Glamping in the wasteland. This build reminds me of watching Game of Thrones or Gladiator when the "royals" would be in their fancy tents on location near the battle. I always thought, who the fuck is toting all those rugs and furniture for thousands of miles (on foot!) so the General can live in luxury while there's massive war going on? Who packs all that, arranges for transport, sets it up, takes it down, etc? I mean, slaves obviously, but geez these questions keep me up at night.

Right? Half of their supply line is furniture for the royalty

Just found your videos and, after trying to build my own camps, I completely feel your pain and frustration. Thank you for helping me realize that even experienced builders still have trouble with Bethesda physics.
@mikepfleger68198 ай бұрын
If you come from a background of Solidworks/OnShape/etc. it's even more painful. I agree with @misterchurch666 that the Bethesda programmers/devs should play the game every week. I would add to that, that they should be given a crash course in OnShape (since it's easier to short term license, and can be run through a browser). A tool that allows defined "connectors" to mate in reference to another, with offsets in 6 degrees of freedom, would illustrate why those tools have evolved such a methodology for building parts and assemblies. IMHO, of course.

Has anyone else had the issue where the spike trap stops working? Logging out and back in did not help, and I'm trying to figure out if there is a smarter way to fix this, without tearing down and rebuilding the bench stack. Thoughts?
@misterchurch6669 ай бұрын
It was working and now isn’t? What do you mean, it doesn’t flip anymore?
@mikepfleger68198 ай бұрын
@@misterchurch666 Weird. I was sure I submitted a reply. Anyway - yes, it works for N flips, and then there is no way to select/trigger it. From any direction, including underneath, where more of it is visible. Before the latest patch, N was 5. Later this week I will try setting one up with a random object on it, and do tests. Maybe this past Tuesday's patch changed something?
@mikepfleger68198 ай бұрын
@@misterchurch666 update: I am still testing, but here is where things get weird. So far it seems completely repeatable, in two different builds below the map, regardless of what support is under the spike trap. Now -- I build this setup outside, and above the map; I can test it on a concrete foundation, and then on a bench... and am utterly unable to repeat the failure. I can trigger it, and then repair it, getting a pop up prompt to do so, whereas in the situation described above, no interaction of any kind is possible with the spike trap. I then built the setup on a piece of upper floor cantilevered off of my underground camp, and again it does not fail after many actuations, tho it is worth noting that all parts of the SymptoMatic is well below the surfaces of the map during these tests. Two things have not yet been tested, and in combination this gives us three more configurations where the SymtoMatic is: 1) penetrating a roof 2) penetrating the map surfaces 3) penetrating both the map surfaces and a roof beneath them
@misterchurch6668 ай бұрын
@@mikepfleger6819 sometimes the prompt telling me to trigger it doesn’t show up, but I can still press the button and it’ll trigger. I’m not sure if this is what’s happening or if it’s something else
