When I watched this episode, a thought entered my head as King Lizard was about to shoot Rex that basically said, “What if he actually shot him and the cliffhanger from last episode was made to fool us into thinking he wouldn’t like a lot of shows would do.” And then BAM! That actually happened and my mouth still dropped! I’m glad Rex still somehow managed to live.

Kirkman for some reason throws in a lot of sitcom references in Invincible (comics), like the collected trade paper backs were usually named after different shows (Eight is Enough, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, etc.), Reginald Vel Johnson High School (named after actor who was the father on Family Matters), and Oliver is another sitcom reference. Cousin Oliver is the trope name and comes from the Brady Bunch, where the show's kid actors having aged out of the cute phase make way for a new cuter kid (Cosby Show had Olivia, Growing Pains had Chrissy, Gilmore Girls had April). So despite how out dated the name is, it fits for a Kirkman in-jokes.

I dont read the comics but Rex's part is way better here. In the comics he hits king lizard as he is being shot in the head. Then he dodges a punch and instantly knocks him out before passing out.

I really like the changes they are making for the show. In the comics if i remember right, its Shrinking Rae who dies, not Dupli-Kate. Its a great change, this proves the show will be full of surprises and no character is safe with plot armor.

Gravity is nothing to be underestimated. if there was a humanoid race living on Mars, we ordinary earthlings could break their bones with one punch. Earthling boxers and kickboxers could kill the Martians with one punch. Creatures that evolved on a planet with such a gravitational force that a Viltrum man would have difficulty moving around can be frighteningly powerful. Moreover, these creatures that move in pack have sharp teeth and claws.

Really glad they gave the Immortal a few extra scenes showing how much he loved Kate. It definitely seems like even though he’s loved before, he thought he finally found someone who he not only cared for, but someone who also completely understood his life and what’s hes been through. He’s died over and over and over and so has she. Really sad tbh. Also, Eve and Mark ships FOREVER!

the fact that you see the monsters on that planet rip through a viltrumite like they were nothing and are told what the point of that story is with a commenter and still think gravity is the solution is... wow. literally it has a monster that just rips through a viltrumite and you think "gravity"... and that you try to defend it by being like "well, the creatures arent very smart so obviously we need to come up with some way to manipulate gravity so its den" i cant even finish this bit of sarcasm because its so dumb.
