The sad part is Mark was right, if Thragg was actually wise, he would've abandoned the Viltrumites old ways of Conquer and like they did on Earth find worlds to dwell on in relative peace. Hell if he was a benevolent and wise ruler it would've made more sense to have their agents act as saviors and respective guardians of their worlds. In retrospect it's not a bad deal, protect the planet from threats only a VIltrumite would call childsplay in exchange for essentially being threated as a God depending on the culture. Maybe more advanced worlds like Earth threat them like celebrities, but all in all it would've made for a much much sweeter deal down the line.

The old ways have only made things worse for the Viltrumites; their society became unstable and warped because of their social dawinistic teachings, their home planet Viltrum was destroyed, and their people were on the brink of extinction. Technically, it was Mark, Nolan, and Thadeus that destroyed Viltrum, and it was the Coalition of Planets' Scourge Virus that dwindled the Viltrumites' numbers. But would any of that happen if the Viltrumites hadn't been conquering worlds? They started the war. They attacked first, not the other way around. They killed countless people and caused untold devastation for what? To conquer worlds because they weren't satisfied with the power they already had? All that accomplished was give the universe a reason to hate and fear Viltrumites. They weren't soldiers, they were bullies, barbarians who thought their power entitled them to take whatever they want without consequences. Mark proved that Viltrumites can truly be great people when they use their powers to actually help others instead of conquering them and value the lives of everyone, not just their own.

I think that was a large part of what changed Nolan, if not as big as his wife imparting human values and love onto him, as well as raising a son. It even got a few more Viltrumites before the end, and I love that. Swinging in to be the hero, and getting cheers and thanks from the people you saved, is a whole lot different than swooping in and taking over. Gratitude and love being earned because of who you are, not feeling like you're owed that because of who you are.

I noticed that a lot of people believe thraxan-viltrumites are weaker than pure-bloods or human-viltrumites. While that may be true, the more significant factor is that Thragg's children are teenagers. There wasn't a single soldier whose skin colour wasn't purple. Oliver proves that Thraxan-viltumites lose their skin colour once they're adults. Thragg was so impatient that he couldn't bother with waiting until at least some of his spawns were adults. It's the last addition to his long list of mistakes stemming from his ego and carelessness (the biggest one being blurting Nolan's heritage out loud).

The realization that she and everyone she loves are on the wrong side, trying to earn the love and respect of the wrong leader...the wrong man 😣

Imagine if Thragg watched his children surrender. He'd try ordering them to continue fighting but they'd refuse. Afterall, he doesn't fight for them, why should they fight for him? By then, someone should tell him "It's over, Thragg. No one wants to follow the old ways anymore, but it's not the end for our people. Viltrumites can truly be great when we use our powers to help others instead of conquering them, and we value the lives of all and not just our own. You can be a part of it too, if you just give it a chance." Of course he'd refuse, if he can't reclaim the Viltrum Empire, then he'll tear it down and start all over. This war is pretty much Thragg throwing a temper tantrum because the Viltrumites won't follow him anymore.

When she saw Mark, her so-called enemy, proving to be more willing to fight for her and her siblings than their own father did, Ursaal realized Thragg was not a man worth following. Ironic given how blindly loyal she was to her father and believing they would restore the Viltrum Empire to its former glory. I guess she asked herself an important question. What glory is there in fighting for someone who doesn't care about you?

She didn't understand because she didn't want to understand. She took longer to accept Earth and its inhabitants than the rest of the Viltrumites and she didn't care how she traumatized Mark. Am I really supposed to feel sympathy for her now that she finally made a family with a human after getting the mostly viltrumite child she wanted from raping Mark? I'm more forgiving towards the other viltrumites for their horrible deeds because they committed them under Thragg's rule who forced them to become savage monsters. The horrible thing Anissa did was under Nolan's rule who allowed the viltrumites to live their own lives, be who they wanted to be. As far as I'm concerned, Anissa showed her true colors after violating Mark. I don't care how ashamed she is of her actions now, I could never forgive Anissa for what she did and she should've been punished for it. She should've experienced the consequences of her actions. Her son should've been a constant reminder of the monster she is. I'm not sorry for feeling this way, I just have no patience or sympathy for rapists.

Thragg's children thought they were fighting to restore the Viltrum Empire to its former glory. But Ursaal saw Mark and Thragg fight each other. She learned that her father had given up trying to save his people and treating her siblings like cannon fodder. Thragg was only interested in revenge against Nolan and his family for losing leadership to them. Thragg's children were not willing to die for such a meaningless cause. It helped that Mark, their "enemy," showed more compassion for them than their own father did, despite everything they did to Mark.

Maybe it has something to do with Nolan being Argall's descendant making him more durable, at least keeping him alive long enough to have one more conversation with his son. Anyway, I like to think there is some symbolism in Nolan, Thragg, and Anissa's deaths. Out of all the Viltrumites that came to Earth, they took the longest to adapt to it and accept a new life there, in Thragg's case he didn't even try. At a point in each of their lives, all three represented what was wrong with Viltrumites; brutality, savagery, barbarism, and self-righteousness. I like to believe their deaths symbolized the end of an Era for the Viltrumites as a species, one of conquest and cruelty. While Nolan made an effort to change for the better, I got the feeling he could never truly give up the old Viltrumite ways, and he knew that. That is why he wanted Mark to become the next Viltrumite Emperor, he never grew up on the old ways and he held onto the core of his beliefs and ethics. When Mark became Emperor, it was like the beginning of a new Era for Viltrumites, one of love and peaceful coexistence, where they actually help people instead of conquering them.

Eve can only do that when she awakens her full power. Her full power can only be awakened when she is on the brink of death. The doctor who kept her from being used by the government explains how her powers work: basically Eve is a goddess. She can construct, deconstruct, and reconstruct matter on an atomic level (similar to the alchemists in FMA). However the power was too much for her to handle, so the doctor put limiters on Eve so her powers would be easier to control. When Conquest almost killed her, the limiters on Eve’s powers were released and she basically went into god mode, which was how she was able burn his skin off as well as heal the damage done to her body. The drawback is that Eve can only maintain this mode for a few minutes. When Thragg almost killed her and Mark, the same thing happened and she not only revived them both, but made Mark stronger. Strong enough to fight Thragg. I hear people complain that Nolan dying is almost a plot hole since Mark and other viltrumites came back from worse, but did they? Mark's had everything in him broken and his intestines pulled out, Conquest has his head turned into mashed potatoes and got back up, and Lucas flew back across space holding his guts in. But I think Nolan's still looks worse I know they say he died because the damage to his heart was too severe and I think people take that line and almost associated with it just being his heart getting damaged, but that's not really surprising I'm more shocked they were able to find his heart thragg basically took all of his internal organs and just moved them to the side straight into space. What's even left regenerated at that point

Anissa said she didn't understand what she was doing when she violated Mark, but it felt like she was coming up with an excuse for her actions. She didn't understand because she didn't want to understand. She took longer to accept Earth and its inhabitants than the rest of the Viltrumites and she didn't care how she traumatized Mark. Am I really supposed to feel sympathy for her now that she finally made a family with a human after getting the mostly viltrumite child she wanted from raping Mark? I'm more forgiving towards the other viltrumites for their horrible deeds because they committed them under Thragg's rule who forced them to become savage monsters. The horrible thing Anissa did was under Nolan's rule who allowed the viltrumites to live their own lives, be who they wanted to be. As far as I'm concerned, Anissa showed her true colors after violating Mark. I don't care how ashamed she is of her actions now, I could never forgive Anissa for what she did and she should've been punished for it. She should've experienced the consequences of her actions. Her son should've been a constant reminder of the monster she is. I'm not sorry for feeling this way, I just have no patience or sympathy for rapists.

I think I understand why Thragg would think it's hopeless for his people when the pure-blooded viltrumites turned on him. The viltrumites believed in racial purity, but they had to put that aside due to being on the brink of extinction. Despite that, I think Thragg still tried to hold that standard to himself, since he didn't breed with the humans on Earth like the other viltrumites did. When he lost the support of the pure-blooded viltrumites, Thragg was not happy because it meant he had to breed with lesser beings himself and use his own children to make an army. I'm getting the feeling Thragg would rather surround himself with pure-blooded viltrumites than any viltrumite hybrid. I'm willing to bet if he was still Grand Regent, Thragg would've treated the children of the other viltrumites as cannon fodder, like he did with his own children.
