Thanks for this, Lucie! I'm sure a lot of people think Invisalign is the "easy" option, but it's important to know that it requires maintenance as well!

I just happened across the video by accident. It's very helpful. I'm about nine months into my treatment. I experienced, in the beginning, much of what you noted. A few things I'd like to mention: the newer Retainer Brite tablets no longer change the water to clear. It stays blue and does have a peculiar aftertaste when reinserting the trays. But I've grown accustomed to it now. The chapped lips were a BIG problem at the start. However, I drink a lot more water now, which has been very helpful with the lip situation (since I can't have hot tea or coffee with the aligners). Also, to clean the trays, I use a baby toothbrush and unscented dish soap while at home; the Retainer Brite soak is done in the mornings. Last, I've been documenting the changes via Snapchat (for labeling images and fun filters). I recommend documenting it these changes because it's amazing to see the progress. Cheers to big, bright, and straight smiles for all of us Invisaligners!

Hi Lucie, I'm about 5 weeks away from getting started with my Invisalign treatment, and your videos are helping me prepare for everything BEFORE I get started! Thanks so much for all the great info. I'm only on your 3rd video now, but I will watch your entire journey and can't wait to hear how things change for you over time, and what else you learned to do (or not to do) while on this journey. Again, thanks for putting this together. You gave me more info already than the professionals I worked with during my consultation and initial scan.

@Thomas Spierings sure! It’s been very good so far!! It’s very easy to clean and so far I see it working! I’ve been snacking the same amount as before and I still have my teeth fit perfectly into the new tray! But I still recommend to snacks little less just in case. It also doesn’t have a huge pain when you change your tray at least for me. It does feel a little tight but it’s not something extremely painful! :))

Those travel pen sized sonic toothbrushes (batteries) works even better. Plus Censodine toothpaste helps with the sensitivity.

Couple of other options. I find I keep a supply at work and in the car for when i'm out and about. I have one of the tooth brushes that has a tongue scraper on the back of the brush. Thinking of getting a proper tongue scraper though. Then whilst I'm at home I have some retainer brite and a sonic cleaner. Pop the trays in the sonic cleaner each day with a retainer brite tablet by the time I've eaten and brushed my teeth it's clear. I use the sonic cleaner on an evening without the retainer brite whilst I eat my tea.

Sophia Anne it’s been a week now and the tooth doesn’t hurt at all. You will get used to it, and it will be easy to take out the trays after the first week. Just try not to think about the pain and go on with ur day =)

You guys should get oragel idk how to spell it but if your teeth hurt and you want it to stop you put this numbing cream around the pain areas and it’ll help out a bit and it works

I just brush them with soap with an electric toothbrush every time I brush 3 times a day and eat only once a really large meal and I never carry anything. Get hungry here and there but I get the pleasure of binging on anything I want. #convinience

@sofirustle84096 жыл бұрын
kodak slimes you need to. You don’t want to put your braces back in without brushing your teeth. Invisalign are porous and will pick up any colouring from your food and stain them. You also don’t want food trapped between you teeth and the aligners as this will speed up the decay process and cause cavities etc. maybe you should consider traditional braces.

What is the retainer afterwards? Does it go under the tongue?
@deborahshaw59826 жыл бұрын
I've just started Invisalign so I bought some sterident denture cleaning tables. Dissolving one in the water turned it bright blue and I panicked thinking it would stain my braces so didn't bother putting them in and just brushed them instead. It sounds like the cleaner you use turns blue as well. So does it stain them blue? Thanks!
@carlfinch82206 жыл бұрын
I use retainer brite, it goes clear after about 15 minutes. Double up with a sonic cleaner to get them extra clean. They do not stain the trays.
