I think Kent is the best pop rock arranger and guitar player of all times. His transcriptions are fantastic and you can almost hear the singers singing it!😮

Kent sings better with his guitar vocals than a lot of other singers do with their voice. l can definitely hear Phil Collins singing. I swear I can.

Yes I had the same experience listening to him play Pink Floyd’s “Time” and “Comfortably Numb”. I’ve heard others do great acoustic guitar arrangements of songs before but very few can nail the whole feel of the original like this guy can. It really does evoke the vocal performance on the original song and I’m sure that is this guys unique skill.

best guitarist so far in my lifetime.... no one catches the charakter of a song with so many layers at the same time simultanously, perfectly corresponding to each other, without sounding stressed, overdriven or unclean... he seems so relaxed while using six braines same time👍👍👍 cant imagine how he will perform in twenty or so years... thanks kent

スゲーなぁ、この若者!My father used to say I was a 12-year-old trapped in an old man’s body because I liked Big Band swing jazz in the mid 1970s before I moved on to Soul, Funk, R&B, and especially Quiet Storm by the early ’80s, despite the absence of many albums in Canada, which lacked any Black community outside of Toronto on the other side of the country. When I arrived in Japan in 1986 after having studied Japanese at university, I felt as though I’d finally arrived at home, where I always belonged. I was constantly told I was more Japanese than the Japanese themselves right up until I eventually returned to Canada in 2002. The only reason I mention any of this is that I feel Kento has likewise been reincarnated from a former life in my era and culture. Look at his play list, which represents my tastes as someone born in 1965, not even including the various white performers, each of whom I also like but haven’t listed: “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” - 1967 (Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell), “What a Wonderful World” - 1967 (Louis Armstrong), “I Say a Little Prayer for You” - 1967 (Aretha Franklin) / 1968 (Dionne Warwick), “My Cherie Amour” - 1969 (Stevie Wonder), “Ain’t No Sunshine” - 1971 (Bill Withers), “Lean on Me” - 1972 (Bill Withers), “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” - 1973 (Stevie Wonder), “Higher Ground” - 1973 (Stevie Wonder), “Feel Like Makin’ Love” - 1974 (Roberta Flack), “This Masquerade” - 1976 (George Benson), “Isn’t She Lovely” - 1976 (Stevie Wonder), “Takin’ It to the Streets” - 1976 (The Doobie Brothers), “Living Inside Your Love” - 1976 (Earl Klugh), “Sir Duke” - 1977 (Stevie Wonder), “Fantasy” - 1977 (Earth, Wind & Fire), “September” - 1978 (Earth, Wind & Fire), “What a Fool Believes” - 1978 (The Doobie Brothers), “Rock with You” - 1979 (Michael Jackson), “I Can’t Help It” - 1979 (Michael Jackson), “After the Love Has Gone” - 1979 (Earth, Wind & Fire), “Just the Two of Us” - 1981 (Grover Washington Jr. featuring Bill Withers), “Just Once” - 1981 (James Ingram), “1999” - 1982 (Prince), “Thriller” - 1982 (Michael Jackson), “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)” - 1982 (Michael McDonald), “Human Nature” - 1983 (Michael Jackson), “In Your Eyes” - 1983 (George Benson), “Through the Fire” - 1984 (Chaka Khan), “Hello” - 1984 (Lionel Richie), “Purple Rain” - 1984 (Prince and The Revolution), “Easy Lover” - 1984 (Philip Bailey & Phil Collins), “What’s Love Got to Do with It” - 1984 (Tina Turner), “Sweet Love” - 1986 (Anita Baker), “Man in the Mirror” - 1988 (Michael Jackson), etc. My only disappointment is that “In Your Eyes” was Peter Gabriel’s very worthy song rather than George Benson (and I think Earl Klugh)’s even better song. I’d can already fully imagine his renditions of Luther Vandross’s “Can Heaven Wait” and Jeffrey Osborne’s “Stay with Me Tonight.” It would be interesting if he could fully develop Southern All Stars’ “真夏の果実,” which he might find too simple but appeals to the age group that loves the kind of music he plays. I encourage everyone to subscribe to his iTunes channel in addition to this KZbin channel.

A year or so ago I twisted the middle finger on my left hand and tore the ligament (power drill). I have not been able to hold a D chord (using my middle finger, which allows for the pinky to hold and hammer the E string) for over 9 months, and I really thought that was it for my amateur guitaring as the D chord is paramount. The good news is, after a lot of physio and stretching, I am finally able to hold a D chord (Fore, middle, ring) without too much pain 😁😁 Love the work, keep it coming
@glidgebidge10295 ай бұрын
i had a friend, he studied guitar... he ripped his pinky nearly completely apart of his left hand, he flew a ticket inpector and got hooked with his pinky to the handrailconnector at the wall whilst running downstairs... he thought thats it, he quitted studying... five years later or so, after his hand was healed but never restored mechanically, and after he had beaten his depressions, he discovered that his already longfingered lefthand was able now to cover the entire fretboard up even beyond the 12th fret... he will never have the ability again to play like before his accident regarding speed and movement, but he is able now to play chords that are impossible to play for everyone else...

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. The song, In Too Deep, is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight, Land of Confusion, and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
