I’m from Brazil. I haven’t been in Norway, but I would love go for a couple weeks. How can I learn the Norwegian? I don’t know say anything in Norwegian. I’ve to learn the basic things, like have a nice day, thank you, hello etc.

Hey Karin I have a question: I don't trust people who don't like cats >>> Jeg stoler ikke på folk som ikke liker katter I'd love to know the reason why the first ikke comes after the verb and the second comes before the verb. Please? x
@gabeparramore15906 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% sure about this but I think it's because in Norwegian and most Germanic languages they have this grammatical rule where the verb must be in the "2nd position" of the sentence. So basically, the first "ikke" is after the verb because the verb "stoler" has to be in the 2nd position of the sentence, i.e. after the subject or dependent clause that starts the sentence, and the second "ikke" is before the verb because the 2nd position rule has already been fulfilled so the word order after the first verb is basically the same as English. I hope that answered your question.

I never even thought about that, but putting "ikke" in different places sounds SO, SO wrong.
