Again, thanks Bill for another excellent piano version post, for me, many memories of late 82, in my Ford Capri and playing one of my many mixtapes of the various 12inch singles from the time, one, in particular had Forget Me Knots, Inside out, I'm a wonderful thing and not one but 2 Shak singles on that cassette, Night Birds and Invitations and oddly that tape was one of my favs got played well into 83, those songs get so imprinted into your head that one of the many memories is from early 83 and the BBC 1 TV drama show that stared Ben Cross set around the 1920s/30s forget what it was called but it was a must family viewing at the time, Invitations is one of those songs and that mixtape reminds me of that time, probably I would have been making my way home in time for that show from a friends house and of course that mixtape would be playing... again!, a bit of a story but somewhat relevant...

Wonderfull song, I am sure, its a present card of Shakatak. You might dont know, but even behind the iron curtain in USSR, in many restraunts musicians started evening perfomance with invitation. It was usually of good form and an indicator of the quality of the musicians.
