Korean Bhai your friend was wrong about Eid. Sacrificing animal doesn't wipe out any sin, donating food/clothes/money to less fortunate is a good deed in Islam. If any non Muslim takes their shahada/accept Islam at that time their all previous sins are wiped out. But after that we'll be accountable for every sins and good deeds. Hope you'll find it helpful!

He didn’t say Qurbani wipes out our sins though. He pretty much said we do it because it is the tradition of our prophet (pbuh) and we have to continue observing these traditions till the day of judgement. He also said forgiveness is in the hands of Allah, we never know. Didn’t find anything wrong with what he said to be honest.

Eid-ul-Azha means the festival of sacrifice. To non-Muslims, our festival may seem strange and cruel. But we take great care of our slaughtered animals. We perform the Qurbani with those who are skilled in animal sacrifice so that the Qurbani is quick and the animal suffers less. I am not sure but I have heard that in some countries non-Muslims but beef eaters use hammer-like weapons on the cow's head and continuously hit the cow's head and thus they accomplish this task which is very painful for the animal. Sacrifice is Sunnah for those who are rich or wealthy. And by sacrifice we get the pleasure of Allah. After the sacrifice, we divide the animal into three parts, one part for ourselves, another part for relatives and neighbors and the last part for the poor and needy. Nowadays we are so busy that we cannot spend time with our family, relatives and friends. Islam has given us beautiful examples of sharing our happiness with our neighbours, relatives and the poor people. Through this our relationship will be more beautiful and strong. And moreover those who are poor who cannot buy meat at the price of meat can also eat meat. And on Eid-ul-Fitr, those who are rich help the poor with money, clothes, food, which is said in Islam. Islam is a religion that spreads love and happiness through festivals and encourages making sure your relatives and neighbors are well. And helping the poor is repeatedly said. Allah will reward those who do charity, sacrifice and other good deeds with a pure heart. Donating will reduce the problems of the poor and those who are poor cannot eat good things all the time so they have nutritional deficiencies and meat has many nutrients which fill up their nutritional deficiencies. I request those who think animal sacrifice is cruelness to think properly and you will find logic in the whole system.

IN Islam, sunnah, also spelled sunna, are the traditions and practices of the Islamic prophet Muhammad that constitute a model for Muslims to follow.

Being a muslim, i only saw the sacrifice only 2 times. It's heartbreaking to see. But at the end of day it's not for anyone or anything, it's only for your creator, to obey him. Actually kurbani system is so open so some people can't take it, but millions & millions of animals are being saughted everyday in restaurant & other ways. None of those meats are free, but atleast from kurbani poor people can eat free.

Thanks Korean Vai for sharing the whole thing and have explanations also. Huge respect. So many people have wrong interpretation about Muslim festival Eid-ul-Adha and the sacrifice event. I hope now everyone would got a little clarification about it now. Eventually this what every earning households do. I don’t belong to highly rich family to be able to Sacrifice the whole thing alone. We sacrifice one cow with our 5 neighbour families in share. Thus everyone can be a part of this event. It's painful as it’s a sacrifice but it teaches us the beauty of sharing. Sharing the meat, sharing joy❤

Background of Khubani. Khubani tradition started with prophet Abraham (Ibrahim ASM). When he was commanded by God (Allah) to sacrifice his beloved son by the name of God to show his will, devotion and resolve towards God. When Prophet Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son arch angel Gabriel (Zabriel in Islam) appeared and told him to stop. Instead, a white lamb appeared on top of the mountain and both father and son sacrificed the lamb. Some Christians believes sacrifice is already done and we have no need for sacrifices. Other Christians believes Jesus (Isa ASM) was sacrificed so no need for any sacrifices. In Islamic tradition Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did animal sacrifices mainly lambs. There is a strict rule regarding animal sacrifice in Islam. Rules are (1). If animal don't want to be slaughtered, you have to let it go. Try next year and year after another. Let the animal go free for good. (2). You have to be humane not to hurt the animal. (3) Best way without pain should be considered and animals must have flexibilities. (4). Animal should not know that it will be slaughtered. (5). Aggressive behaviors not permitted. (6). Cannot slaughter multiple animals in one place where animal will be scared. (6). You cannot show another animal slaughtered and cannot show knives. (7). Animal should be calm. (8). Ritual sacrifices should be done in 2 and 1/2 strokes meaning in less than 2 1/2 seconds by trained individuals. If you use more or take more time than the sacrifice becomes haram. Islam stipulates that we have no right to take any one's lives. It permits only to consume to survive but in a humane way. If you don't follow the above rules than the sacrifice is not accepted by God (Allah). It becomes haram. In Bangladesh commercial chickens are slaughtered in humane way. Hopefully one day they will do to other animals. God bless.

The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah SWT and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail. At the very point of sacrifice, Allah SWT replaced Ismail with a ram, which was to be slaughtered in place of his son. This command from Allah SWT was a test of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness and commitment to obey his Lord’s command, without question. Therefore, Eid-ul-Adha means the festival of sacrifice.

How humanly/painlessly do you kill a cow for the meat you eat in Korea? This practice has nothing of a primitiveness. It is taking true resosibility for the meat everyone who eats meat regularly. A cow can't be sacrificed without its meat fully utilized. It's mainly for the poor. If you close your eyes, does reality disappear? It's also healthy meat. Nonislamic slaughter houses are super brutal. Have you ever gone for deer hunting? Yet I have never laid my eyes on it. That's selfish. Tried vegan for years. But that's flawed....take responsibility, use logic and good intention, be awake. Allah asked us to provide healthy food to the poor on eidul Adha.

Back in Korea they don't have extensive knowledge about slaughtering. Extensive research has been done on both halal slaughtering and shock method. But since korea has a lot more western influence, they don't know much about halal slaughtering. They also don't know much about the underlying process of halal slaughtering. That's why halal slaughtering looks primitive to them.

Eid UL adha is not only sacrifice. It's also a way to let us know humanity. You should know that many animals killed every day for eat then why there is a sad feeling to watch the sacrifice. When we watch it we become more human than usual. We eat meat that's not a problem but sometimes people forget that they are human. They don't only hurts animal but also other's. So when you see sacrifice you become emotional and understand others feeling. Your evilness decrease. This is also one of benefits in Eid. it's make us human and take our evilness.
