I was there… Along with a couple hundred thousand others. Courtesy of my beloved Uncle who decided on the morning of the show to take me along with him and his mates. Watching 60,000 people try to get through a normal, 2 person basketball court entry gate was interesting. Afterwards, the pubs around centennial park were beyond busy. Every single one had people spilling out onto the streets. I can’t believe it’s 30 years.

Happy 63rd Birthday Michael - Gone but never forgotten! This was the last time I saw you live after 50 gigs. Thanks for the memories old friend x

They were and still are to me one of the best bands ever to hit this planet. Best lead singer a band could ever have as well. He had it all. Michael Hutchence ✌🏻 RIP 🙏

It was a wild show. Wet and everyone there was pumped. Crowd was mad. The band was brilliant. Just another reason to ignore the media.

Can't get enough of the live vibe of "send a message". I haven't moved like that in a month of leap years. Better sit down, ... think I threw something

I am still to this day obsessed with NXS After Michael passed, I went into the electronic scene after Max Q. I then in NYC became a raver/clubkid. Although, there a few good bands out there,I feel rock & roll has significantly changed.. I will forever love INXS. No- One can replace INXS after HUTCH passed 😢 but, the music is still alive forever within me

Is it true that this concert meant a "debacle" for the band? I don't know why, I read it in an article some years ago
@andrewcastles2997 Жыл бұрын
The concert itself was great and well-received by those who attended. Crowd was a bit down as it was really hot that day, but I think still 60,000 - 70,000 attended. The bigger issue was that the concert didn't raise as much money for the charity as expected, and some blamed INXS as they had their full light show and orchestra which would have cost a bit to put together. Still, the charity made I think half a million dollars from it. It was also partly what we call 'tall poppy syndrome', the media and some people thought INXS were getting too big for their boots, living overseas and being successful, and they wanted to drag them down a bit.
@Casherr93 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewcastles2997 wow, that's interesting to know, I couldn't find information anywhere on the internet, I think that also explains why INXS disappeared a bit during 1992 (apart from what happened to Michael in that incident in denmark), I think it was a big mistake from their part of not touring in support of welcome to wherever you are (their best album imo), after how good 1990 and 91 were, I think that the album had much more potential than what was seen. Anyway, now i find out how cruel the media was with the band until Mike's death

Inxs was given a private dressing room which upset some of the other bands and it had nothing to do with them .
