InZicht: Delfzijl (NL)

Found out that my great grandfather Louis Christiaan Philippus Sr. Had migrated from here to the US. One day I really hope to make it back home, here to Delfzijl.

It will be a dissappointment I'm afraid.. Delfzijl suffered a lot from the economic recessions in the last decades and the town has fallen into decay, many people have moved to other areas and Delfzijl is now one step away from being a ghost town. It used to be a nice little town but now it is but a shadow of its former self, poverty, crime, unemployment and low education rates make it difficult to recover from the economic downfall in the area.
