I dont think Eve understood at all. She was looking for an actual tree in the midst of the garden...she didnt know the tree was the beautiful devil she was talking to at the time.

Jeremiah 2:33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways. Israel didn't teach Gentiles to sacrifice unto devils. They chose to worship the gods of the Hamites. If you look at the Catholic church you will see many things that they do that are taken from the gods of Ham. As a rebellious nation, we have taught rebellion against God and his laws by thinking we are innocent and don't have to obey. Always remember, there are those who teach falsehood and those who teach truth in every generation. Peace!
