@ 13.14 in the Queens Hotel appears on your right. We've stayed there. Fond memories of the landlord. His nickname was Pompey a loyal Portsmouth F.C. supporter. When he served the three of us (combined mass of .381 metric tonnes! ) "BREAKFAST" we burst out laughing at the intimidating threat of the challenge ahead. IOM content hardly ever looks at the stunning produce produced in this potential foodie destination. We have always dined royally on the elegant sufficiency of riches you can find. P.S. heartstopping moment footage, well done, as for the other riders just passing without stopping to help, NO JUDGEMENT pls, some people rise to this, others become confused and terrified. Thanks for stirring memories and thoughts.

Everyone who rides should do a basic first aid course, did Land's End to John O Groats last year with my brother, cyclist went over his handlebars with no helmet in the Yorkshire dales, I'm a snr HCA and alway carry a first kit and suter gun for those severe wounds, poor bloke knocked himself out, split his nose across the bridge. Managed to get him air lifted, suspected neck injuries and head trauma. He survived thankfully. Good to see you attend the fallen rider, well done 👏

Hi Tommy, No it’s totally free, you just need to get to the island. During the TT the ferry and hotel prices are greatly increased due to demand, so it’s quite expensive to actually get to the island. However once you’re there, the roads are public and free to use 👍

Nice. 13:00 running that STOP sign as you're turning left to go into Laxey... STOP! Also, as much as we love you visitors and you love the Island, that rider (just before the right hand bend into the Bungalow) and so many more, are the reason why the Mountian is always CLOSED. I think the record from OPEN to CLOSED is about 7 minutes. These riders ruin the experience for the others. They are NOT JD(RIP), MD, JM, PH, DH, LJ, IH etc and these visitors are riding on OPEN roads (and in many cases, unfamiliar roads).

Being a spectator at IOM sucks, limited view pretty where ever you're allowed to park your arse ... Only good bit is having a blast around the Island ... It's become far too expensive now, ferry crossing fee is getting silly, accommodation cost is even worse, I'll not be going again anytime soon, watch it in comfort on the Telly.
@teapotone2 жыл бұрын
Yeah cost is getting prohibitively expensive now, especially the ferries. I was expecting more big screens at the viewing points but then again, personally I think it helps build the excitement and anticipation waiting for the riders to pass your particular spot. It also helps folk interact as you stand there wondering what’s happening throughout the race in different parts of the course. I like the whole overall experience of the TT - not something I’d go every year religiously to see, but certainly worth a trip - in my opinion 👍

@teapotone2 жыл бұрын
Ha Ha thanks James. You’ve definitely got to go to the Senior TT which is traditionally the last race, held on the Friday of race week. However it’s all weather dependent so sometimes it’s held on Saturday, some times it’s not even held if the weather is too bad. Best bet is to try and do the full race week and go from Sunday to Sunday. Ferries will be available through the Steampacket website very soon, and you’ll need to book them immediately otherwise they’ll pretty much sell out in hours! Hotels are VERY hard to get, you could try booking now for next year but they’ll probably already be sold out. Campsites are a bit better, but again the better campsites are booked up a year in advance generally. Basically, book as early as you possibly can 👍 It’s worth it
