Unfortunately with iOS it’s been the same tips to improve battery life for 10 years, Apple needs to fix more
@MihaiCostiug Жыл бұрын
@@Jst4vdeos Lol it's always gonna be the case of "turn off features that are using a lot of power if you want to save battery". Display is always gonna use a lot of battery, same for high CPU loads, background activities and sensors like GPS. What does Apple need to fix specifically? Give you less features? I'd say at this point it's as fool proof as it can be, with the optimized charging and everything

I’ve noticed a common frustration with iPhone’s optimized battery charging feature. It’s supposed to preserve battery health by avoiding overcharging, which is great in the long run. However, it often results in my phone reaching a full charge way before I actually need it. I’m sure I’m not the only one facing this.
@WodverWizard Жыл бұрын
That's normal behavior. If in case of emergency you need your phone and are away from a power outlet all day, you'll at least have started the day at 100%. I've literally had this happen last month. My dad suffered cardiac arrest in his sleep near the end of the night, a couple of hours before my alarm was supposed to go off. We were able to save his life with CPR and we had to follow him to the hospital after he was rushed away. We ended up being away from home all day, but my phone at least started at 100% a couple of hours early so I made it through the day with no additional charge, allowing us to keep in contact with friends and family members. I know this won't ever happen to most people, but it's an example of exactly why Apple designed the feature to behave this way.
@MihaiCostiug Жыл бұрын
It's supposed to learn your habits over time. So if you always plug it in at 11pm and start using it at 7am, it will learn that and will stay at 80% until 6ish. The first few times you are going to do it though, it will just go straight to 100%, and if you keep unplugging it early, then it will assume you need it earlier.
@HistoryNut-1701 Жыл бұрын
It hasn’t worked at all for me since upgrading to iOS17, so I disabled all the settings that allow it to work since they consume battery on their own, and take my phone off the charger at 80% before I go to bed and put it back on when I wake up to finish charging. When I can finally upgrade to the iPhone 15, the 80% max limit is getting switched on and staying on.
@MihaiCostiug Жыл бұрын
@@HistoryNut-1701 Lol those settings won't consume any battery on their own. But do whatever works for you. If you're changing your entire schedule to accommodate this, my suggestion would be to just forget about it and put it on the charger whenever you want it and take it out when you need it. Doing all these optimizations might maybe give you at most one more month of extra in a 3 year lifespan, before you need to replace the battery. You decide how much of your time you want to spend for that one extra month before spending under 100 bucks on a new battery.

My iPhone 14 Pro battery health is currently at 88% from consistently using 12w iPad Charger and being out all day in the sun with extreme heat. Heat is what degrades the health fast. I HIGHLY recommend using a 5w charger daily and 12w charger when in a rush.
