by the way talking about the CarPlay, since iOS 18 I am the only one who has touchscreen bug? I mean whenever I touch the left side on the screen for navigation or music icon it doesn’t click. I have to do many clics on the icon to access or I have to go on the main page and then click on the icon to get in the app.😩😡

@mamamia601 Sound from music playback and voice functions often stop working, requiring a restart to resolve the issue. Camera frequently alternates between a blurred view and a normal view, forcing to restart the camera to fix it. Selecting text on the lower half of the screen doesn't work properly, as the selection unexpectedly jumps to the upper half of the screen.

CarPlay has issues!!! Right now if you are using Apple Music or Spotify, if you turn your car off and back on, CarPlay defaults to the home screen (icons) vs going back to Apple Music or Spotify. I have been using CP for nearly two years. It never did this before 18.

Btw- ( pre this update) they changed the recording encoder to H265 from H264 - while it take 50% less space to record video now, on older PC you have to slow the video down to be playable since the encoder needs that much more processing power , and they did not give the option to keep recording in H264 .

@ VLC will show you the encoding , my old pc plays H264 no problem , but after a forced update to 18 all the video I recorded was choppy and pixelated, after checking everything the encoding is H265 which is better compression ~ by 50% which needs more processing power , so it only is watchable at half speed on my old pc , after talking to the guys in Apple Store they confirmed it - there also no way current for iOS 18 to record in the old H 264 (H265 is about 90-100MB/min )

I am on the 15PM and it did get removed in 18.2 RC2. Tbh, as a 15PM user, this really frustrates me as it goes to show that Apple just stop caring about old phones altogether or pay very less attention even the one released just a year ago. Really disappointed.

iOS 18.2 RC 2 actually crashes the camera on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It seems like whenever the macro camera is activated, the camera app crashes. I had to revert back to 18.1.1 and restored from iCloud. So far so good, no such crash anymore.

I was having camera issues, the camera not opening up from the lock screen. I had a lag in Face ID also screen responsiveness was just crap intermittently it would not register my finger, touching the screen on some sites and also KZbin and I’m on the iPhone 16 Pro Max hopefully this RC two fixes a lot of that because I almost got rid of this phone and I’ve been a lifelong apple User

Let me ask you something because I don’t know if I really understand side loading. So, there’s the site that I made a shortcut for called Dr. Squatch since I order from them a lot. They have a bookmarked app on my iPhone. For whatever reason. There’s no store app. But unlike my shortcut app on my home screen for taking different surveys. The Dr. Squatch app feels smoother and more app like. Whereas, the Survey app feels like I’m in Safari. My question. Side loading means anyone can make an app for the iPhone i can download onto my iPhone without being redirected to the App Store right? I don’t think I will use it because my info has been stolen before and I prevent spyware by not downloading anything. I know my info on the dark web somewhere.

Am i the only one annoyed that they have swapped positions of Enabling data and airdrop. Like why would you prioritise airdrop? Now have to clicl 2 times to enter data and enable them. Airdrop is used once a year, data enabling is used multiple times per day. Makes no sense

I’ve been trying iOS 18.2 RC2. It better but still got annoying bugs. When I get a notification and I push on it, I either type in my passcode or do the face ID, nothing happens. Just goes into the home screen. Also touch is still not 100% responsive but is better, Apple Intelligence still having issues and Siri sounds like she’s depressed.

I noticed this a while ago but the Camera Control has a visual bug that can easily be replicated on the latest IOS public version. If you press the Camera Control button to open the camera, then press it again lightly to bring up the camera controls (as you normally would if you were using it), but then swipe upwards to leave the camera, the Camera Controls remain visible despite now being on the Home Screen. The button stops working but the UI remains. To remove it, you can just reopen the camera using the button and it’ll disappear. It’s fascinating since it’s the first repeatable bug I’ve naturally encountered on an iPhone. I’m curious if this is fixed in the newest IOS betas.

This year I decided to stay with iOS 17.7.2, instead of jumping on iOS 18. Last year, I learnt a hard lesson by upgrading iOS 17 immediately after the launch, and what a disaster it was till iOS 17.7! Horrible iOS experience ever, hence, I am glad to be in iOS 17 party!
