I just bought a couple of these. Just renovated my bathroom downstairs and doing the dining room next. I like the sleek look. How are they holding up a year later?

awesome i think you're gonna love them. A year later, no real complaints. every once in a while it will drop off the network, but thats only happened 2x and after a bit it reconnects. The only thing i've decided I DONT like about the switch is that the LED glow is too bright for my bedroom, and took bothered my sleep until i got used to it. I would not install these in a bedroom where the switch was visible at night. But for a bathroom or any other room i think you'll really like it.

@@DuncanBuilds yea they’re beautiful. Installed quite a few since my first post, although I’ve been having issues with a 2 gang I installed. One switch controls the foyer light and the other my porch light. Porch light will not work. I think it might be because of the LED fixture I have outside. Going to buy a fixture with a screw in and see if the LED’s voltage was the issue.

@@DuncanBuilds turns out one of the RL wires was faulty. Iotty has great customer service though. They sent me a new unit in about 2 days. Works perfectly now.

Wouldn't you feel better if the switches were in rainbow with little cat icons above it? :P Saw your video about how the new overlords will make most of our jobs obsolete. Funny that you have smart technology in your house that might someday turn against you. Alexa is not your friend.

Yea you know I have a love hey relationship with tech. I'm aware that my conversations are being recorded and data is being mind about me and honestly I don't like that. I am a proponent of things like the idea of owning our digital avatar and choosing to sell or not sell our information. however in the world as it is, and as it is likely to stay, I just try to use my technology carefully with the full knowledge that it doesn't serve me entirely.

Does this fit any two switch panel
@DuncanBuilds4 жыл бұрын
Yes this will fit a standard American two gang electrical box. they do have single gang and three gang options as well

how is the switch doing? been seeing mixed reviews on it so far
@DuncanBuilds2 жыл бұрын
Yea mixed is a good response. Backplate lighting is fairly bright. You get accustomed to it I suppose but may be an issue for light sensitive folks. Also, drops connection now and then. Maybe 5% of the time. Biggest pet peeve- doesn't communicate well w Alexa. I'll say "turn off ceiling fan" and the fan actually turns off, but then Alexa yells at me that the fan isn't responding at 10pm. That's the biggest downside I've experienced. Thanks for watching and asking a great question!

Regarding backplate lighting- it would be fair to further explain that it's a bit bright for a bedroom setting, imo. Public spaces, I think it's a really nice feature.

I can’t get the plate cover to click on :/ tried to unscrew some of the screws but my wall is a little uneven .. ughh
@DuncanBuilds4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've had that crop up at other installs. The best thing you can do is try to make sure that the back plate itself is not warped or twisted or funky in any sort of way. So this may require tightening or loosening screws until the back panel is not flexed. Then you can install the cover.
