Been waiting for you to talk about this one! I think this band is on fire! Great album from start to finish! Excited for what they do next! I’m a drummer, and one thing I love about their drummer is the fact that he clearly can play fast, but he doesn’t play fast all the time… there’s songs like “Feel the night” where the drumming is pretty basic, at least comparing with the typical extreme metal drumming… everything is so dynamic

BTW, the band's name is pronounced Yotunn, not I-o-tunn :) It's an old norse word for a giant, and as Icelandic is very close to old norse, i.e. the language hasn't changed much since the country was first inhabited some ~1150 years ago. The Icelandic word is thus Jötunn, where the Icelandic J is pronounced like the english Y.

Access All Worlds was one of my favourite albums from 2021, and I didn't think Kinship could match it. I was wrong. Kinship is fantastic and might just be my favourite album of 2024. Hope we get to see the band over here in the UK next year🤞🏻

I don't know if you noticed this but your lens has an issue with focus breathing. That's when your lens zooms in and out slightly as it gains focus, and as you move around it keeps autofocus on your face, but it makes it do that distracting focus breathing stuff. Set your focus before you start, then set it to manual. It won't keep the focus as you move around, but if you're sitting at a desk you should be fine. Keep your f stop a bit higher (darker) and you'll have a larger focus range to move around in. You can play around with shutter speed and gain to adjust the brightness in that situation. Sorry, I do video work for a living and I always immediately notice this stuff. If you know all this crap then sorry, haha. By the way I love the fit. Looking sharp, hoss.

Brilliant technical skills. Totally lacking any artistic virtue. Dont like bands that write all the music and then just gets the singer to write whatever rehashed lyrics he can think of to shoehorn into the musicical score. Not my cup of tea but world-class players and vocal for sure. Depends what your into. I would prefer a bit more originality and growth if it's going to be the album of the year, though.
