I went to Iowa and am married to a Michigan alum. He's right. But that's why the team every year is so dangerous. What he fails to mention is that Iowa will fuck up your season in the blink of an eye. A better analogy is the straight-laced guy you fuck with at the bar and come to find outside he knows a little MMA. There have been many quiet bus rides home leaving Kinnick. Ask Michigan that. I think What that doesn't get them, is a 4/5 speed athletes. Hell of an offensive line and kicking game though. LOL

Colin Cowherd is right though, we do dodge big non-conference games. Though much can be said for most of the SEC. We also don't recruit like we used to.

You're crazy if you think we recruited better in 2002 then you now. I think college football is harder and QB's like Nathan Chandler wouldn't look as good as they did when they played. Past players like Adrian Clayborn or Bryan Bulaga DO NOT compare from a recruiting standpoint to AJ Epenesa, Tristan Wirths, etc. Our players are getting athletically more gifted. We had arguably the most talented Hawkeye WR group ever in 2020 and this 2021 group could be on the top 5 in talent and speed. What are you smoking? Iowa is poised to take another step fwd and start getting 4&5 stars. The offense has opened up and become more creative. Brian and Ken will figure out how to remain old skool but still add new elements with spread out formations and other new passing elements. I think your drunk.

@Rylan Hansen Because fucking Alabama plays Citadel every year and they get nothing BUT 4 & 5 star recruits, arguably the best class year in, year out. I won't ask Iowa (i.e. Kirk Ferentz) to do something that could hurt the program (schedule difficult/ranked opponents in non-conference games) when Nick Saban isn't asked to do the same? There is obviously a talent difference between Iowa and Bama so why are "you so mad" about Iowa "ducking big games" while Saban has been doing it his entire tenure at Alabama!? 🧐

There's only a few other programs including Clemson, Ohio State and Alabama w/ better win percentage. Iowa is better than 80% of FBS including Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Northwestern (who Iowa has struggled against) USC, Florida, Florida State, etc. Held 23 consecutive opponents to 25 points or less. Big Ten record (never been done) so stfu.

IMO, you probably shouldn't open a "hype" video with valid criticism by our program's biggest detractor. I mean, I've been a Hawkeyes fan since I was 4 years old living in Kalona. But is Cowherd wrong? He may be offensive and condescending, but he's speaking facts. He's not saying the guys don't work hard, he's criticizing the university for playing a weak non-conference schedule...and he's right.

Well...living in Iowa most of my life....the Hawkeyes haven't earned the side name The Chokeyes for nothing! It would be nice to see them take it from game one to the National Championship...not as long as they have the coaching they have! The coaching staff is a good Div 3 league at best but not Div 1 and especially the Big 10. Fry knew how to do it...when Heyden retired so did Iowa's chances of doing anything that closely resembled a contender....but I still hold out for that one miracle season!
