Before my wife and I camped there I found your video to help get an idea of layout. It helped in my choices of places to photograph in the park. If you like the summer, you’ll love the autumn!

The silting up of the lake created by the dam in the park is an example of poor watershed control and this dam should be considered for removal and/or redesign. I grew up in this area of Iowa.

I live in Nebraska and just retired last October. I’m a avid hiker, biker, and kayaker. I’ve been searching other states to explore and just happened to come across your channel. You have given me a lot of places to check out😀. You do a great job of showing these places, thus should have more subscribers. Thanks a lot for the ideas.

Love your videos! I just recently paddled the Volga, which I did previously many, many years ago. Have also paddled the Turkey and Upper Iowa. I turned on to the NE section of Iowa when I saw a photo of the Upper Iowa’s gorgeous limestone bluffs in Outside magazine. Thought it was taken in northern Georgia! I’ve been intrigued ever since. I’ve done a lot of paddling in the driftless area of SW Wisconsin (from Madison) and was pleased to see NE Iowa is also in the driftless region, as well as the SE corner of Minnesota. I’m looking forward to camping at Backbone, visit the Makoqueta caves and paddle the rivers I haven’t explored yet (Makoqueta and Yellow rivers.) Thanks sooo much for sharing your outdoor adventures with us!

@@AiJaiDeeSaMer nice campground and even nicer cabins! With COVID and the derecho a lot of campgrounds got shut down so I would call first to see how much is open.

My favorite spots in Iowa are the ones that break the flat cornfield stereotype :)
