Vintage Sugarbeet Harvest 2024 - Winter Edition | Lots of Great Tractors in The Field

Earlier today we went to a small town called Vesterbølle in the northern part of Denmark. Today they held yet again another Vintage Sugarbeet Harvest event with lots of differen tractors in the field harvesting beets.

Mooi dat er nog zoveel 3 rijers zijn , mijn vorige baas had ook een TIM bieten rooier met een ontblader . Daar rooide we 40 ha suikerbieten mee !

They're fodder beet, also known as mangles

I have pictures from the night between 30-11. and 1-12-2010 at Falster Denmark there we picked sugar beet in a blizzard and 50cm of snow. the following days we had to drive and scrape snow away from the beets in front of the beet harvester

I'm not an expert but the flail choppers don't seem to do a great job topping the fodder beets. Also many beets seem to get their roots broken off. There used to be a type of fodder beets harvester that pulls the beets by the leaves, that seems to do a better job. Still, cool video, great to see these machines working.
