I want to make linux bonding mode 0 as weighted round robin.i.e; to assign weight to each slave depending on packetdrop or latency. Is it possible to do so? Are the configuration files of modes user configurable in linux?

I have 4 interfaces on my physical server, so i have to make 2 bonds with 2 NICs each, both bond will have different IP/Subnet from 2 VLANs. So how i can define the default route for bond0 and specific routes for bond1 in RHEL7. Thanks

Use port1 from ethernetcard1 and port 1 from ethercard2 to configure bond0 and use port2 from ehernetcard1 and port2 from ethernetcard2 to configure bond1. update default gateway in in /etc/sysconfig/network and other gateway for bond1 define in /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-route file. Hope this helps.

hey tune to linux, i am having an issue related to setting up a bond with 2 virtual nic's. When i disable eth0 on the server VM, the ping stops on the client VM, even after setting the bonding mode to 5. Also, fyi, the server is set for ddns, so it provides ip address to client. Please advise on what to do. Again, in hyper-v, i also didnt check the box on nic teaming.

Hello Sir, i have configured NIC Bonding for my server, but when i am switching it to other interface i am unable to SSH the server. but ping response is fine. can you please help me here ?

Check boding opts- it must be active-passive or round robing mode. Configure bonding is very simple and you don't need to do much. Just follow the video. Hopefully this time it will work.

try to configure bonding/teaming on two hosts and then ping one host from another, during ping disable one active interface on the host where you're pinging from and check if the ping isn't interrupted, the active backup doesn't work for me in this way

+Tirta B Remove bond file under/etc/sysconfig/network-script. Reassign IP in ethx device. Unload bond module and remove it. #rmmod bond0 is example. And finally remove the entry from udev if there is any under /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.xxxx file. Hope this helps.
