It's a pity that politics got in the way of his Prime Ministership but he can probably do more good by encouraging Australians to think about about our circumstances and the future of this country. I’m a white in my 50’s and even I have seen a great deal of discrimination against indigenous people growing up in this country and I will not stand for it to continue. What I have seen proves the negative impact history has had on indigenous people. An indigenous voice needs to be enshrined in the constitution so it can’t be erased by incoming government at the time. Please check the book out

There are indigenous people in Australia that really do need some help, but there are also many other Australians that also require help. The biggest problems we have is getting the money where it needs to go due to corruption. There are far to many 'organisations' which act as middle men/woman where we loose a substantial amount of the monies given.

Australia’s Referendum 2023 voice proposition is not limited to being an “Advisory Body”only. Where in the referendum proposition can one read the words “advisory body” or the words “no power of veto”. Nowhere! One can only read the word “a body”. This means the proposition is not a closed question but an open ended question to ensure that the function and purpose of the body can change in the future or even at the very moment the referendum passes. It would be such that a government who commands a majority vote in the Parliament could grant the body for being only “a body” a new power or powers from a simple parliamentary consent and thereby changing the function and purpose of the body in the future. If the “yes” mob were sincere about the body being only an “advisory body” then the words “advisory body” and not “ a body” would be embedded into the wording of the referendum proposition making the proposition a closed question. Beware. This is the trick in the trap! Mr. Albanese says it’s only an advisory body. A modest request. Just a small change. But Why? Why aren’t the referendum alarm bells ringing? 🇦🇺💯%

Anthony Albanese is deluded if he thinks he will be able to control the aftermath if the Yes vote wins. He cannot control Marcia Langton, Lidia Thorpe, Linda Burney and many others now. If the yes vote wins, no Government as we know it will ever be able to govern and serve all Australians again. The only people who will ever be able to be served by the 'new-style' Government are the Aboriginal communities and given the way in which the $30 billion is not helping, there is no guarantee that The Voice will help all the ordinary people in those communities.

Of course, we should help the less fortunate in civil society, but the less fortunate could be indigenous or non-indigenous. Therefore, we should use our taxpayer money to help someone in need, not because they are indigenous, but because they are Australian. Also, helping the less fortunate does not mean we must close the gaps in income, university enrollment rate, or mortality rate for any group of people. Gaps in various forms in a free society result from free choices we all enjoy, and we all need to take responsibility for them. People need to exercise independent decision-making for their own good.

Why can't the YES camp do something like this without resorting to name-calling & screaming at those who genuinely about all Australians, not one single group. Unlike the U.S. where you are "African American", Japanese American" or whatever else American, Australia is made up of "Australians" who are all equal. No-one denies that settlers did some things we cannot be proud of but so did many Aboriginal communities. It's also more than 200 years ago. No-one alive today is responsible for any of the atrocities but all Australians are responsible for the way the country moves forward. With the exception of Aboriginals living on traditional lands, every Australian has the same experiences and access to everything needed. Only about 25 years ago, Australia was the most successful multicultural country in the entire world. This voice will create Apartheid in Australia because a treaty is only needed when you need to have an agreement with a Sovereign nation and usually includes payments of reparations or payments to allow the treaty to stand to allow the nation needing the treaty to stay in the Sovereign nation. This is usually a lifelong payment for the privilege of staying in the Sovereign nation. The Government is already giving $30 billion each year to assist the Aboriginal peoples to help them solve the issues they were struggling with, some of those issues having roots in settlement. Unfortunately, that annual $30 billion is having little effect on the average Aboriginal person in Australia. There is no need to give additional money as we all know, in any situation, throwing money at the problem does not solve it. More money cannot stop the discrimination from the date of settlement. Just remember that all the Aboriginal nations are not free of discrimination within themselves. If descendants of settlers should pay reparations, should not descendants of Aboriginal communities who massacred other Aboriginal communities also pay reparations to those they hurt? What is needed is more adjudication of the money already going out to ensure it reaches the people it is meant to help. A constitutional change will create an Australian where the original people of this country will be able to force descendants of settlers to pay for the privilege of using land that may not have ever had significant interest previously, including the land the descendants of settlers built their homes, schools, hospitals, shopping centres etc etc on. You only need to read the 26 page document which clearly states that reparations, on top of the $30 billion each year, will be required. If that is the life you want, vote yes. If you want a way to truly help Aboriginal communities & repair the division created by this referendum, vote no.

@@onlytimewilltell204 very surprised, since it has survived changes of government, with little to no change. Suggests the loss of a meaningful middle ground for anyone to occupy. The Voice is part of a six stage strategy, the Voice itself is stage 5 and stage 6 is Makarrata. The aims are clearly stated "A TREATY could include a proper say in decision making, the establishment of a TRUTH commission, REPARATIONS, a financial settlement (such as seeking a PERCENTAGE OF GDP), the resolution of land, water and resources issues, RECOGNITION OF AUTHORITY and CUSTOMARY LAW" (from page 19 of a 26 page document released under FOI (FOI/2223/016) from the National Indigenous Australian Agency, page 1 is titled Uluru statement from the heart [centre justified]) "Makarrata is the culmination of our agenda" from the Uluru Statement from the Heart (page 1). So its very clear not only is the Voice an assault on democratic principles, not only does it introduce race/cultural identity into the constitution, its part of an agenda that the Prime Minister himself promotes VOICE - TREATY - TRUTH. He even has the T - shirt. The National Indigenous Australian Agency (under Linda Burney) has had executive authority to close the gap since 2019. (e) specify the functions of the National Indigenous Australians Agency be as follows: iii. to lead and coordinate the development and implementation of Australia’s Closing the Gap targets in partnership with Indigenous Australians; (Federal register of legislation, C2019G00474). Moreover the three clauses to be inserted into section 129 of the constitution do not include the words advice, advisory or advise: - i There shall be a body, to be called the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Voice. - ii The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice may make representations to Parliament and the Executive Government on matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. - iii The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws with respect to the composition, functions, powers and procedures of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice (AEC).
