I successfully completed the hard mod on a cdma A1403 iPad 3. I'm pretty sure the r1204 did not exist on this model as I was unable to see any resistor in its place. The r1205 did exist and I removed it with a needle and a hot air gun. I advise anybody not confident in their skills to not bother trying this mod as it is very difficult. Taking the glass off, the first step, is very challenging without chipping the paint or breaking it. The resistors are about the size of a comma , good luck to those who try!!!!!!!! Milos Cvetkovic I restored 9.3.5 oficcial of itunes because Update option wasn't in iTunes after put of the resistor and was my only option. Thanks again I'm writing now in my Ipad. Reggards

I never tried to remove the 3G board, you must check if there is anyting that makes the main logic board work in conjuction with the 3G board. You can try to detach and test but make sure you can re-attach in case it does't work properly.
