So quick question, what happens if that "Delicate flex cable" you were referring to at (9:39) gets torn? I bought an Ipad for parts that has that flex cable ripped off. is it possible to solder a new flew cable in it's place?

How much would you charge for a repair like this?

One thing I would like to know is if you replaced the glue that held down the screen in the first step. Or if you just reheated the front and then pressed it back down once completed. If you applied glue, what type did you use? Thank you.

Great question. It depends on how successful I was in removing the screen without destroying the adhesive. I wouldn’t use glue to reseal the iPad even if I needed to replace the adhesive. Instead I’d use Tesa tape or 3m tape that mimic the adhesive apple uses to close the iPads. This would mean that I’d prep both surfaces perfectly.

@@FIXDPHONES Thank you for the response. As I was removing the screen, I mistakenly severed the single connector cable. Damn! I have taped it down to the area of the break, with insulator tape. However, it looks like a strip of metal sandwiched in plastic. I don't know if it will work. Damn!

Usbc is so fragile. It failed in my iPad too. Never had this issue in my old lightning connector iPads

That is soo true. My iPad Air 5 stopped charging because of two (!!!) bent pins inside the port. And that is after 8 months of pretty light useage... Never had that kind of issue with other USB-C devices. I actually recently bought iPhone 14 Pro instead of waiting for the 15 Pro just because of the switch to USB-C on the 15 lineup. Apples USB-C ports are joke.

Just now at 8:48 you removed a cable after you removed the sticky black foamy thing. You removed the doubled cable so easily. I couldn't do it no matter how I tried. Then I got mad and smashed the iPad. Now, I have to give him my iPad Pro. I had spent so much money buying the CPB mat, a $600 soldering kit, the screen removal clamps, etc. 🤣🤣🤣 I screwed up! 🤣🤣 🤣🤣 The kid's iPad Air 4th generation is now resting in the garbage bin. Damn 🤣🤣
