I'm totally agree with Charlie's mom. It's time to tell children to interact with other children around their age. Whether its ipads,laptop or smartphones. I hope the adults can also spend time with children rather then electric devices too.
@ToastBloxy7 ай бұрын
50/50, in one hand, what you said is completely true. But on the other hand, they need to be introduced to technology to learn new stuff which includes their future, disagree or not, Technology is gonna dominate the future. Now of course, there needs to be restrictions to that like no using your ipad all day, when eating or when meeting new people. But that's the parents job now. My parents, for example, takes my little brother's ipad everytime he either goes to eat, sleep or meet new people. And of course, they tell him to get off his ipad once and in a while.
@yogalover27537 ай бұрын
@@ToastBloxy That's actually good that they're doing that because they'll end up missing out on their entire childhood. I also agree with Charlie's mom about him being too young for electronics at his age because the kid should at least be twelve or thirteen before they can have an iPad.
@ToastBloxy7 ай бұрын
@@yogalover2753 Depends. Nowadays, it's hard to find friends that aren't glued on Electronics which gives 9 year olds hard to socially enjoy their childhood.
@yogalover27537 ай бұрын
@ToastBloxy So true, this is actually the reason it's important to monitor how much time your kids spend on technology, and for some things, you should wait until they're at least a year away from being a teen. I didn't even have an iPad at all until I got a bit older, and I turned out fine. Yes, I had a few electronics before then, such as a TV in my bedroom that I got for my tenth birthday and a video now player that I had before then. Hell, my dad, even let me have my first phone ( which didn't have internet) and DVD player when I was eleven years old. But I wasn't allowed to have things like my own computer until I was twelve or thirteen because I was at an age where I'd need it for homework. Yeah, my dad wasn't completely strict about the computer like some parents, but there were certain things I wasn't allowed to do on it, though.

And yes sam's mother is right that nowadays technology is very important but like I said you need to balance it off.. As person who has allergy to sweat ofc I only spend my time indoors and only watching my family member go outside from the inside.. I do spend time outside but only like 30 min to 1 hr only.. Maximum is 30 min only due to sweat.. I only come out if it was cloudy, windy and rain..😅but spending time indoors I'm not into gadget that much..

7:17 extended ending concept: "i'm starting to see that now," sandra said. "but... i just don't know how to start... and, come to think of it, it could be already be too late to make any amendments." "well, its never too late to change, because from all my years of being a mother, I do have the one trick that I believe can solve it." mary said. "let me ask you something, sandra: have you ever heard the phrase of: you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?" "no, but, what do you mean by that?" sandra asked. "well, what I'm saying is... if you could try to be a good example and encourage him to put down his electronics, maybe things could work out differently." mary said. "but... will it work? i mean, I tried to encourage him to put down his electronics, but despite my yelling and shouting, nothing ever works." sandra said. and that's where mary snapped her fingers. "ah ha! that's where the problem's at. yelling and shouting." mary said. "sandra, do you know the reason why charlie always listens to my words?" sandra shakes her head. "well, that's because I believe that yelling and shouting isn't going to get me anywhere if I want to help out my child. instead, if you could switch the tone of yelling and shouting and use a much nicer tone to tell Sam..." "...then he might be able to listen to my encouragements..." sandra said. "exactly." mary said. "so... how about you give it a try?" "you sure it'll work?" sandra asked. "I have faith that it will." mary replied. sandra thought about it for a while. then... "sam, mind taking off the earphones for a while? mommy has something important to ask." sandra said. as sam sees that he lost the game he's playing, he decided to put it on pause, takes out his earphones, and turn towards her mother. "what is it, mom?" sam asked. "let me ask you something, why do you believe that playing your iPad is better than... well, playing outdoors?" sandra asked. "I mean, what's the point of doing that anyways? it's hot out there, and there could be mosquitoes biting me. and compared to playing on the iPad, its much nicer." sam replied. sandra sighed. "well, that's just you overthinking about it." she said. then she asks sam a question about his game that he's playing. "so... in the game that you play, in order to get food, gather materials, and fight off monsters, you need to go outdoors to do so, right?" sam nodded. "well, that's practically the same thing... minus the part where you get food, gather materials, and fight off monsters." sandra said. "look, what I'm saying is... the great outdoors in your game is thrilling, and, so is in the real world... you just don't know that yet. and once you try it... maybe you might like it." "you believe that's true?" sam said. "i do, sam, and like i said, all it takes is for you to try it... who knows, maybe you might like it. so what do you say?" sandra asked. sam thought about it for a while, and pictured himself. in the game, he has the thrill of exploring the outdoors digitally, and in the real life, he is surrounded by kids of his age. but despite him wanting to be in the world of the game, he still cant seem to do so, as in the game... he's just... alone. all by himself. no one but him. until... "tag, you're it!" one of the kids said, as he ran past sam, patting him in the process. sam is just there, standing. the kids are just looking at sam, waiting for him to make his next move. "sam... are you alright...?" sandra said. "hold my iPad, mom." sam said, as he asks sandra to hold onto his ipad. "because its time i make sure they'll be tagged... before the day ends!" he runs off, as he plays along with the kids happily. the video ends with both mothers smiling, as the decision of sam decided to change his ways makes the both of them happy, especially sandra, who is happy that mary's method worked.

I’m a late Gen-Z, I’ll go on my phone once in a while, but my hobbies are mostly using my telescope, and stargazing. Parents, please try and get your kids into hobbies. They can be on their devices once in a while, just please don’t let kids be inside all day.

I agree that having access to tecnology from a young age is very helpful nowadays. But it's also easy to get sucked into the wonders of the internet. In my opinion it's okay for a child to have access to tecnology, as long as there's a limit to his daily screentime.

Is it rly helpful tho- u don't do Jobs at a young age. Why does 9 year old want to hv full access of technology. I say 10 years of age is the best age to introduce technology

I spent a lot of my childhood doing many fun things, and my screen time was extremely minimised. Now that times are changing, I am getting older, and my parents are doing less outings and stuff, I am more into technology, which is okay now. However, Sam is too young to have that freedom with his iPad!
