Thank you so much for these videos! The time-lapse "tutorials" I see on other channels don't help at all but your videos do. I grew up watching Bob Ross and your videos are such a tribute to him. It takes a special talent to be able to create something in a short block of time and be able to explain it too. I've dabbled in oil and watercolors, have a knack for painting but not formally trained at all. I have an ipad on the way. Can't wait to start with this!

Another great tutorial James! I love them. I agree about not necessarily telling us the exact brush sizes, etc. Its good for a step-by-step tutorial, which longer videos might be good option for Patreon subscribers. However its important for the viewer to learn how to do techniques more than just follow along. Jason Morgan (also on YT) regularly stresses this: he won't tell you the name of the colours he uses for his art, but explains the process and mindset about WHY he does what he does.

James - I’ve found your channel and have watched many videos and I’m very grateful for your tutorials. I manage to produce work I’m happy with but if I had to name my biggest weakness (there are a few!) I’d say it was getting the correct value. I’ve come to realise that exact colour is not important, but tonal value is crucial to creating realistic work. A tutorial from you about this topic would be great. You’re.a good teacher! Do you teach art at school?

Hi James.I've followed almost all your tutorials of landscapes, repeating them on my Ipad. I have got good results on some of them. The tutorials are clear and almost every time easy to follow.I have not yet recreate this last one by myself. At the end of it you said ( and the same on other videos) that is only an idea, a way to get an effect, not al complete paint. It could be a good idea if you make a second part of this "Trees and Misty Lake" where you add more detail and make the paint a more complete art, giving us an idea of how to improve our digital paints.(excuse my poor english)

I don't know if you saw my post on your previous texture video, but I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how you select your colors. It's great that you provide the hex codes for your colors, but it'd be nice to know how you decided on the colors.

it wouldn't need a video, i just find pictures with a colour scheme i want to use and use the 'dropper' colour select option in procreate by long pressing although this depends on how you have your settings

Thank you for the videos! I am trying to follow along on my IPad. I am new to video art, and have yet to find a fan brush that I can use. I also keep trying to use the technique that you use for the background trees, to no avail. I can't seem to get it right.
