I moved from a iPad Pro 2020 which has 120Hz to a iPad mini 7 and it still feels buttery smooth even at 60Hz

No, it doesn’t n I have the 2024 iPad Air. It’s not smooth with 60hz.

I bought ipad mini 6 and I desire return because I use multi media and read manhwa+manga and don't draw anything screen in ipad mini is very bad for use poor bright and low contrast low tsr. I think happy with P11Pro2021 more than ipadmini6

I have ipad mini 6 all I can say ipad mini 7 is beast! promise you wont regret but be careful on accidental soak into water it is not water proof
