What is really nice is the time he takes. Doesn't drone on and on with interlaced swearing and how stupid other people are blah blah blah. He acknowledges the problem, finds the issue and boom fixed. The End. A pleasure watching.

He actually complains though, especially if the customer was not honest on the previous repair. He also charges a fee for just looking at it.

Really nice video! My ipad 2018 started rebooting randomly for some time and sometimes going back to normal for a few minutes, hours, then starting again and now it's constantly rebooting for 3 days, iTunes restore doesn't work. Does it sound like a hardware issue?

I have a 2017 iPad Pro 2nd gen 12.9 screen and same scenario. An update 2 months ago borked my ipad. I've taken it to Apple Store, BestBuy, CPR (CellPhoneRepair) and Asurion repair place here in northern Illinois and nobody will do this work. Apple & BestBuy wanted me to buy a new device. Basically I have an expensive paperweight now. Really enjoy your videos sir. Would you work on my ipad and do a video?

Hi, I have an iPad mini 4 that is stuck on apple logo right after updating to iOS 15.1 Do you think this is a coils problem? I tried restore and factory reset and nothing works. Do you think these updates fry or do something to the coils or other hardware components? Thanks
@ashleynery80923 жыл бұрын
looking on those dead coils i noticed that they were showing black marks on the top, when you looked around the board i saw a couple of other with marks on the top as well, would that mean they are on there way out as well?

I think they runs too hot to got that mark.

Hi, how much would this type of repair cost on average? Whether or not it’s worth repairing or getting a new iPad Air 4? My iPad Pro is stuck in that boot up loop, DFU restore and update didn’t solve it so this appears to be the problem. Not long after I got it It would restart every now and then if it had a slight knock like a 4inch fall when putting down on table. So it seems like a loose connection that finally became completely loose. Thanks

Very Nice. How do you guys rule out software issues? Does iPad let you boot to a LIVE OS for testing?
@JLawlietK3 жыл бұрын
Well, based on my limited experience. Software issues aren't normally the cause of failure to boot. If it is, usually Apple or whoever the software maker would issue a statement. It all boils down to experience.

Are the coils/inductors not easily available ?. How can you tell the values ?.
@triadwarfare3 жыл бұрын
I think Apple's chips are proprietary and would be hard to do a repair as their chips are not available on the market. Hence, they use donor boards where they could salvage the parts
@clangsison3 жыл бұрын
does the donor board need to be the same capacity? or can one use a different capacity but same model? thanks

I just had that issue on an iPhone X that had the earspeaker repaired. Since i dont trust generic parts i tested it with a known good oem earspeaker and i worked. I dont know why i didn't make a video for that one.
@pupil27203 жыл бұрын
Lead-free solder that is used in modern devices for RoHS is more brittle than leaded solder. If that ipad should drop again, those coils will not likely break off again because he used leaded solder which has better elasticity and is much less brittle.
@pupil27203 жыл бұрын
Of course thinking back on it now, the legs of the coils broke off at the coil and not the solder so what I said is irrelevant in this case 😅

Great job! It's unbelievable that a device that costs about 500$ loses coils in that way...maybe the root causes are both thermal excursion and some kind of shock.

Is there a video where you open an ipad up and show how to do it? My iPad got this boot loop. Strange circumstances tho. It did about 2 weeks ago. I just left it on my bed, maybe a game was running stopping the ipad to sleep but i'm not sure. I didn't have time to look for solutions then so i just put it aside, 3 hours later it worked. 2 days ago, also left it on my bed alone, when coming back seeing the boot loop. Waited 6 hours, nothing. Clearing cache, nothing. Connected ipad to my pc and itunes, tried upgrading ios 3 times, still in boot loop. With a big breath i pressed restore for the 4th time. Still the same; while it lasts it acts everything as it should, but when itunes says wait until the ipad reboots and will appear in the menu, it doesn't. Any idea what i could try? I guess it's not cuz that coil problem you are showing it here as it wasn't moved a bit neither time. Thanks a ton in advance for any help.

Even in drops, I am having a hard time imagining how one would break those inductors. Why would they break so easily, are they poorly potted? I mean, sounds like manufacturing problems
@robwebnoid57633 жыл бұрын
My mom's Moto Android smartphone currently has a bootloop. However we discovered it only works if it is plugged into the charger (and wall outlet). But once you unplug it, it goes back into the bootloop. Here are my questions > 1. Are the coils too big that their tops get bumped when phones/pads get dropped? 2. Are the coil legs too thin & perhaps they should be thicker so that they don't break off? 3. Anyone know the inductance values of those coils, or is there an all in one value used? Anyway, I will try to inspect my mom's phone for loose parts.
