Great video. The problem is that for most Uni students on budget, these are their *ONLY PC* as a laptop replacement, so they need a 12" Tablet, not cheaper 10, 11" which is more of a complementary device to your Laptop. In this regard, the Galaxy Tab S7+ currently costs $800 (keyboard, case, pen included), vs the 12" iPad Pro starts at $1,500, which is a lot more expensive. If you're a student lucky enough to have a monitor + keyboard, mouse setup at your place, Samsung Dex on the S7+ is useful as a desktop replacement. Also the Used/Secondhand price of the S7+ right now is far cheaper at around $500 for the Whole package. Realistically, *$500* for a PC, without having to spend more, is an outstanding investment.

tab s7's pen doesn't need to be charged, charging the pen is only for the Bluetooth capabilities of the pen, samsung's s-pen can be used without the pen randomly losing battery because you forgot to charge it and waiting for the pen to recharge on the iPad.

That's what I got out of it too. As well as in other videos. The main complaint about this tablet in most videos is that the apps are not optimize well for it, which is true. But the tablet overall and what it can do, in my opinion, is better then an ipad.

@@Vigilante2011 for me it was the versatility of android tablets and the fact I already have a Samsung phone. The screen is buttery smooth, definitely the best on any tablet. The S pen and all its features come in handy and the fact you dont need to charge it to use it is brilliant and Samsung notes is amazing. I went for the s7 plus because the dimensions are just right since its literally the shape of an A4 paper so its not awkward to use or work with unlike the ipad which is a square. Samsung DEX is great and well optimised and is very close to a desktop experience which ipad fails to do. I got the 8gb ram version with 250gb ssd since I do a lot of editing and media work so while having multiple applications open it still runs very smooth. However I got mine imported from Germany for £700 (similar price to the 6gb version) since the 8gb version isn't available in the UK market. The keyboard case is very nice and imo worth the extra money, very high build quality on it only downside is that it isn't back-lit. The battery will last for around 5 hours if used constantly and will last the whole day if you didn't. The downside is that it takes 3 hours to fully charge with the terrible "fast charger" it comes with....with a 45watt super fast charger it charges in an hour and 20 mins. Overall beast of a tablet and incredibly versatile.

I'm no longer a student but I am a QC inspector in construction and I use Samsung note and S pen alot 1) folder & tag system for managing notes. Just like in windows PC where you arrange document and folders 2) recording voice & notes. When you replay your voice recording, the notes shows what you are writing during what time of the voice recording. Basically you know that you write during what your lecturer saying. 3) export: pdf, image, microsoft word, PowerPoint, Samsung note file, text file 4) import: image, pdf, def, voice recording, audio file and text box. The pdf import Is impressive. I just can open any pdf in any apps, press share, press Samsung note and choose note that i want 5) Samsung clipboard can remember about latest 30 item you copy (image, hand writing, text) & you can lock them so that you can paste anytime 6) you can re arrange pages easily and copy paste pages to other book 7) page template built in, or you can add yours whatever you want in gallery 8) what ever pdf you have, you can open directly with samsung notes, no need extra step, just click the pdf and select(open with) Samsung notes, you can directly write what ever you want and it save automatically 9) Spen. Instead of tapping pen, you just hold button to erase and release button to write again. Much more seamless than apple pen. Single press change within your favorite pen that you set up 10) easy trasfer with windows PC, in my country mac are only use by some ppl for personal only. Most company use windows PC, I never saw any company use mac for staff. Transferring using cable charger from windows PC to tablet is a huge deal when it comes to large 30-40GB pdf just like mine

I just got the s7 plus a few days ago and honestly as a student it is a dream come true, first free stylus and also free note taking app by samsung which is the best, it can easily go on and on with good notes or notability. Multitasking on s7 plus is so much easier. At the end of the day it's ur choice, I had an iPad but as an Android or more specific samsung user it didn't go well with my eco system and with samsung tab s7 plus it goes well with my ecosystem, I can share documents from phones to my tablet. I do use my tablet as my main device in university and it's pretty amazing

App store may have better optimised applications, the i-pen is super sensitive and kind of destroys your neat handwriting experience but s-pen makes you feel as if you are writing on a paper( no battery needed and wacom level quality). I have both of them and writing on s7 is a pure joy.

I haven't had an iPad since it first came out. But the Air 4 is a gorgeous piece of technology. The A14 is the latest and greatest that will last for years to come. Gaming is smooth as butter. Carrying it around feels like a feather. Holding the flat edges feels like an expensive portal to the internet world.

Well speaking of Long Term Usage, the Galaxy Tab S7 will receive OS upgrades till 2023 (Android 13), which is kind of an upgrade considering Samsungs previous Update policy and furthermore the Tab S7 will continue to receive security updates for another two years, stretching its support till 2025. The final OneUI version will probably be OneUI 5.0, 5.1 or 5.5. The iPad will probably get OS updates for 5-6 years + 1 year of security updates, stretching its support till 2026/2027. Idk what you guys think but I think 5 years in general are OKAY but Samsung could do even better if they wouldnt launch 1000 phones a year...

hello,I was planning to buy the Tab S8...but ASUS released the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED, which has a full detachable keyboared, a 13.3 inch OLED touchscreen with a writing Pen, 2 USB Type C ports and an audio jack,256 GB of SSD, 8GB of RAM, ... it's light, portable ,got bigger screen and can be used as a PC...with the same price tag as the Samsung S8 Tablet. So now I'm confused what to buy, does the tablet (S8) has better apps/ more practical for studying...I just want something to get rid off writing on notebooks, doing homeworks -correcting mistakes- writing in lectures and better management of the material. note: 1)I'm a computers science student ,so for coding I need a PC. 2) I have an ASUS tuf gaming laptop which I use for "PC" tasks...it's very powerfull..so if I buy the tablet I"ll just have the laptop + tablet if I pick the Vivobook I think I even can just use it. Any advise?

There are so many things I prefer about the Samsung tablets over the iPad, but I just hate the aspect ratio Samsung uses for the display. 16 :10 is great if you are primarily using your tablet in landscape orientation or frequently watching movies on it. But in portrait mode it just feels too narrow. and since I use my tablet in portrait mode 90%+ of the time, that ended up being a deal breaker for me. It's probably less of an issue if you're getting the larger Plus or Ultra, but with the 11" S8 I felt like I was trying to write my notes on half of a page lol

In terms of performance.. its no brainer tha M1 chip is far more superior to Snapdragon 865+. But personally after using both ipencil and spen in all stores, Spen is just better then ipencil. Ipencil feels weird since its been so long i used a normal pencil.😅😂

I have used both for work and think this is a fair assessment of the strengths of both. Overall I reach for the S7 99% of the time given the choice though. It makes a world of difference when you through in a 1TB SD card and no longer have memory as a consideration.

Oh see, I'm really glad you said that about the Dex mode. I wanted something to try to write on and take notes but that also handles multitasking. If it can't actually replace a laptop for multitasking I have to pass, I need to eventually buy a new laptop as I own a windows 8 and that's out of security updates. Maybe I should get the S6 lite or something cheaper. I just can't get into typing notes out; my brain doesn't process it the same way, and I'd like digital notes to help be less wasteful of paper.

To say android isn't as intuitive. Why? My wife and mother in law know nothing about tech. Started on iPhones and hated it, switched to Android and both claim they'll never go back. It's just easier to use for them. So saying iOS is more intuitive is just BS that people say all the time when they've only ever used iOS for 5 years and use an android device once a year. I'm lost on iOS. Settings are in dumb places, etc. But I use Android 90% of the time (only use iOS when helping family fix their stuff). That 'argument' is infuriating to me.

I feel the same way sometimes and I used both daily for years. Something about iOS that I guess, for me personally, I just didn't really like. "Most" of the functionality was great (only say most cause for some reason the 6 I had in 2016 deleted my contacts TWICE) but I feel somewhat limited when it comes to certain aspects. Android has a long way to go when it comes to seemlessly linking multiple devices without some knowledge of programs that exist on the wearables, tablet, phone, AND PC...but once you everything synced up it works seamlessly... Samsung is helping bridge that gap! Moreso than Google even

I follow a lot of tech reviewers, yours is the best IMO, you're probably the only one who's closest to not being biased towards or away from apple. Saying what it(any tech) actually is, is something all the others struggle with.

Really? You think that? As CC puts it, he said “you have a very solid pen” with the Samsung and then straight away said “arguably just as good as apple”. Then he showed the apple stylus and said “fantastic. You can get this at $130” but made a review with cheaper alternatives. Rather then praising Samsung for a free, original and fantastic pen he has to hold back on praising an non apple brand.

@ALL i am a Student in university and I need a Tablet for writing taking notes during the class in chemistry and biology, pharmacy. I am not a designer or artist but I just need a tablet for writing texts and calculating, writing on pdf documents/sripts, and in freetime for KZbin, Netflix, Google. I have a Android phone LG V30 and a Pc with Windows 10. I'm not used to Apple but I've heard that the Apple iPad has better optimised apps for writing and and taking notes so I'm not sure if I should buy the Samsung Galaxy S Tab 7 128G with stylus(softer writing?) or the iPad Air 2020 64GB with Apple pencil . For me Samsung Galaxy S Tab seems cheaper than Apple but apple might offer more writing quality. My friend a student told me that most of the people in university use apple and he advised me to buy an ipad.Pls help. What do you recommend me?

Tab s6 lite (usually on sale $350-420 USD) IF you want an the s pen but for less money, and they make official keyboard cases for it. Samsung notes is a godsend app

I am watching this video in iPad Air 2020 with the magic keyboard To be honest the trackpad is not practical as I thought... there are a little bit bugs to be fixed for example today I opened the iPad and the cruiser is not visible i had to reboot the device just to fix it and sometimes the click don’t respond as it should be Maybe they will fix these issues in the future updates But overall the magic keyboard is a good experience

The new tab s8 ultra came out. I'm in nursing school i need a new tablet.. iPad broke.. i only will be using it for online school, notes taking (good notes), canvas is where we do everything, and media consumption. How long do you suppose the tab s7 itself will last? And how long will the s pen tip last? I plan on purchasing a good tablet mainly for reading, note taking and watching videos. And ofcourse I want to get a tablet that will give me good few years of use without slowing down much in performance. I would go for the pro but the price is a huge factor and the fact that I'm not a pro user so i think a pro tablet would be a bit of an overkill.

How long do you need it to last? I still have Tabs from 5 years ago, and they are still most suitable for reading, watching videos and note-taking. Samsung is guaranteeing 3 years of updates, but after that the Tab S7 will still be an excellent tablet. I still have the original pen from the Note 10.1 of seven years ago, and the pen tip is still going strong. You can get refill on ebay. I own t he Tab S7+, and an iPad Pro, and they are both fantastic. The Tab S7 should also be fantastic, as it is basically the same device as the Tab S7+, with the exception of the amoled screen and difference in size. The display on the Tab S7 is also exceptional, as is the iPad Pro. And what' s more, the Tab S7 with all its improvements over the Tab S6, is still the same price as the Tab S6 was when released. In my opinion, the Samsung S7 tablets have surpassed the iPad Pros, with a smoother pen experience, and superb note-taking capability of Samsung Notes, as well as the presence of Dex. Also, the software called AIR COMMAND is a godsend for students and professionals. The Apple tablets do not have AIR COMMAND or Dex. The reviewer, has unfortunately, glossed over many of the S7's capabilities in order to come down on the side of the iPads.

I bought a Samsung Tab S6 lite last year for school and it is absolutely amazing. The Samsung Notes app is an incredible note taking app, and considering that it is a lot cheaper than apple i can definitely recommend it!

!!!!I need help!!!! between choosing from these two tablets! I really want the iPad Pro, but the only thing stopping me is the fact that I'm scared it would break easily. I am a very clumsy person, and I'll probably take it with me everywhere, in a school bag. For 2020/2018 iPad pro users, how durable is it? Would a Logitech Folio case and a good screen protector keep it good to go for a few years? Or, should I stick with the S7+? Does the Samsung Tab S7+ still feel incomplete, or is it smooth? I heard it lags quite a bit with multi-tasking and more than a few windows opened. Is this true? I'll probably use whatever tablet I get for studying, drawing, gaming, recording videos and watching stuff. Which tablet is better for me? So the samsung tab gets updates for about 3 years, but then it gets surcuity updates for an extra too. It should last 6 years or more just because of how it's built, my last tablet was ipad 6th generation but with every update Apple slowed it down. that's why I switched because Apple slows there tech down, samsung doesn't maybe in 2014 or 2012 but samsung fixed it. Right now I'm using the tab s7 and it's working great there was even a update. It's still running strong. 💪

On the s7 you can watch a KZbin video when your doing other things it turns into a little box. Just thought I would add that because that's super cool. I use it for school the tab can convert words written with the spen into text. The ipad pro wouldn't get it's power fully utilized and will just be slowed down in my opinion.
