thank you for the video CSR, your input really helped me understand what I was doing wrong and I actually got IPFIRE working on my network... unfortunately it didn't fill the need I was hoping it would fill, I wanted to segment my network with IPFIRE but it's just way to clunky and slow...I used a Raspberry PI 4 (4 gigs of ram) for this project...

I think you should use pfsense for your project. Its much better than IPfire
