Many of you have said I should have maxed the refresh rates of all the phones. Well here's an explanation as to why I didn't: Firstly, I have already done battery drain tests on my channel with the Note 20 Ultra, OnePlus 8 Pro and ROG Phone 3 all set to max refresh rates. I even go as far as to add the results of those tests to a massive list at the end of this video. This is one of the main reasons I use the same apps for the same amount of time and use the same LUX reading for brightness on ALL phones in ALL my battery drain tests - so that you can fairly compare all battery drain results of all phones at all different configurations on my channel Also, if I set the androids to MAX refresh rates, the iPhones would look super superior since their max refresh rates are 60hz so it made sense to keep things even. After all, if you want the best battery life you aren't gonna buy an iPhone because it has a 60Hz refresh rate when you could get a phone like the ROG 3 and drop the refresh rate down to get even better battery life and then still have the option for a high refresh rate when you need it. So in a sense I did 60hz across-the-board here since 3 of the 4 android phones have already been tested at max refresh rates (but not 60hz - hence, this test), and the OnePlus 8T will be tested at 120hz in the near future anyway. I really hope you can all understand why I did this and instead of hate on me, appreciate the effort in this decision and the insane amount of work that went into this video. The ROG Phone is ~20g heavier as well (not that the 11 Pro Max is a lightweight phone at all, the stainless steel frame weighs a ton).

Theoretically, if Apple had a phone with a 6500 mAh battery, and it had the same efficency as the iPhone 12 here, at 6.16 mAh drain per min, the battery would last for 1,055 minutes in this test, or 17.58 hours Obviously it won't have nearly that high of a capacity. The 11 Pro Max has a 3969 mAh battery, and since the current 12 Pro has 230 mAh less than the 11 Pro, it would be safe to assume that the 12 Pro Max will be around 3700-3800 mAh. If the 12 Pro Max has the same efficency has the iPhone 12 here, that would still be about 600 min or 10 hours in this test, so about the same as the ROG phone.

@Maanav Khurana oneplus is probably one of the shittiest smartphone brands. The op8 launch in india was filled with hardware defects with pink screen and other severe display issues. They rushed the launch and to save their face, they said its software issue and will be completely fixed by next update which it certainly didnt. Many people were pissed like me and i refunded it and instead bought an iphone. They wasted 3 months of my time and blocked off my money especially during the pandemic and were simply ignorant to their design flaws. This brand is simply not reliable unlike Samsung or Apple.

The ROG is impressive. One thing to keep in mind, is when you set the screens to the same lumen, a larger screen will need more energy to produce the same result. So that makes the iPhone Pro Max and ROG even more impressive.

The one with the larger screen will die first. Thus the larger phones who are winning because of bigger batteries, should get even more credit, because they also have some of the largest screens.

This test is by far the most accurate representation of what an average consumer would do. The screen is active and isn't just a still pubg game, and a lot of the tasks weren't that intensive, instead of random useless rendering and benchmarks the entire time. This task is perfect for the iPhone 12, and is more accurate and is better as it isn't forced to push out 100 percent and can rather focus on efficiency! Great job bro!

@Maanav Khurana8k is unnecessary, but the 108MP sensor is actually a large 1/1.33 Camera sensor that can capture way more light. Even the iPhone 12pro Max upgraded it's sensor size. Or would you say an full frame camera sensor would be unnecessary for a 3000$ DSRL if an 1/2.55 sensor can also take photos?

screen set to 1080p on a 1440p native screen won't save you any energy, it will still use as much as 1440p. It only saves energy if you go down from 4K to 1080p, since it can combine 4 Pixels into one big then. That's probably also the reason why the OnePlus 8T lasted one hour longer than the pro.

Can we just talk about the fact that all of these phones were set at 60Hz and the iphone 12 still didnt come last? It has a 2815 mAh battery and beat the oneplus 8 pro which has a 4510 mAh battery and almost beat the note 20 ultra which has a 4500 mAh battery.
