The colour that fades off 1:51 is just the coating coming off to reveal the raw leather underneath. Once that coating is off, you can apply leather conditioners to give it a patina

I had the black leather case on the 12 Pro and this year went with the midnight for the Pro Max. There's definitely a difference in tone, Midnight is a blueish black.

I bought the midnight case and a black MagSafe wallet (thought maybe it was last years black and that midnight was the new term for black) slapped them both on and walked right back into Best Buy to find out they didn’t have a midnight wallet in stock. It’s definitely a more obvious difference when I paired the two colors together.

If these cases patina like the pre-iPhone 12 cases then there is hope for Golden Brown. I have the Golden Brown case but I’m still waiting on the phone, I’m really hoping it darkens and patinas like my Saddle iPhone X case did. I do not know what Apple was thinking by not bringing back Saddle this year though. That should be a *mainstay* color along with Black.

Leather is leather and will patina,especially as it spends a lot of time in your hand and absorbs the oils of your skin.

The Golden brown long term will be the best leather case. In a few months of usage, it will look more like a saddle brown color everyone like from last year's leather model. Just give it time and you will love the Golden Brown.

Totally agree on patina; on tan I get it but on the green I received it and soooo dark I think will turn darker and look dirty/blk so I’m switching out for the brown as think it will patina wonderfully

the Golden brown in a few months of usage will turn into a saddle brown color. The green is the best leather color this year but for long term, I would prefer the golden brown.

I think that the Wisteria was made to go with the Sierra Blue but I typically don't like going so "matchy." I think you can't go wrong with the black or even the red leather. I have to get the phone in hand to see if the sequoia green would look good. I honestly think that the chalk pink silicone case could look really good but that may not be your style!

When I went to buy a leather case the Wisteria wasn't available. I went with Green for my Sierra Blue 13 Pro. It's growing on me. Not sure. I was looking for a saddle brown ideally but none available as you noted. With the case on you can't really see the phone color anyway, so I figured I'd go with a color I liked. First leather case and also my first apple case. The leather was slick at first but "grippier" after 5 days. I like the minimalist design but bought insurance on the phone in case of a serious drop. Got a non-apple clear and black plastic case. I'll play around and try them all before settling on a daily case.

Yeah, I went with Sequoia Green also, I've had that case on my 6+ and XS Max...still my favorite color. At first I actually did get that Dark Cherry (this was back on pre-order day, no videos and not many photos of this- it did look like dark maroon in many pics, but yeah ended up being way too purple., Apple Store couldn't even display them until launch day...but you can buy them 😐 I returned it next day.) That Midnight, yeah at first I thought was just the standard black. I have yet to see it in person...but I see it has a very dark blue'ish hue to it. I can make that my next case.

I also got a Sierra blue pro and haven’t decided between wisteria leather or blue Jay silicone. I’ve always got leather before but I love the blue Jay colour and am worried the wisteria might be a little too purple/lilac. I don’t care if the colour combo comes off as “easy” like he says lol.

I just got the golden brown and it is neither golden, nor brown. It is straight up ORANGE. There aren't even and brown undertones on this thing. Apple, please bring back saddle brown. I will be returning this case as soon as I can find a more suitable 3rd party leather replacement. This year's leather colors suck ass.
