Hi, you asked for some tips. Here's mine. First I decided to use my 13 Mini as…a phone! Yes, I do some other things but I took off all games and most of the productivity apps since I have no plans on writing a book or produce a Keynote presentation or Spreadsheet, etc. If I want to play games I have an Xbox Series S and 70” tv for that not to mention an iPad Mini 6. So, what are my tips? Low Power mode. You can always turn it off if necessary, but the A15 is so powerful that even in Low Power mode, performance is not an issue. I do something’s like check on my bank balance, credit cards, do an occasional text, check emails (delete/respond, forward, etc), check the weather as needed., in short, small everyday tasks. So, my usage is kept to a minimum. As a result, I usually have about 60% or higher at the end of the day. Low Power actually works on the 13 Mini and stretches my charge and then some. I realise I'm probably not a typical user (I'm 71 and I don’t 'live' on my phone. For me it’s main use is practical and for communications). As I've indicated I have other tech for entertainment and other uses. I like the size, I have 100GBs of storage out of 128 free. My Apps are few but what I need or want at the ready. For me, the 13 Mini is the best iPhone of the offering this time around. Apple addressed the battery issue and has given us the best small iPhone possible at this time. Everyone is going huge in their screen sizes, it won’t be long before guys will have have a bag just for their phones. I like being able to put my 13M in my front jeans pocket! As soon as the Apple Watch doesn’t need an iPhone, I may just have an Apple Watch for phone usage, I'm close to it now!

thanks for the input sir. I really needed an input from someone who actually used their phone as a... damn PHONE. have you tried the dark mode along with the low power mode? oh Btw do you remember the moon landings sir? what were they like?
@Halo9K2 жыл бұрын
@@sidv4615 Hi! Yes, I keep my iPhone on Dark Mode as it saves battery and screen life. As for the Moon landings, it was an exciting time. However, nothing beats the first one. I was 19 and had graduated high school. The movie 2001: a space odyssey had come out but I hadn’t seen it. The landing was in July but that Fall after I started college, I finally had a chance to see the movie and something wonderful occurred. Watching the men walking on the Moon scene, I realised that was no longer fiction for just a few months earlier I had witnessed 2 Americans doing it for real! That was thrilling as I remember watching Alan Shepard do the first sub orbital flight in 1961 when I was 11 and in 8 years we went from his short flight to the Moon! I had my Dad get me up so I could watch the launches which were always very early. It still amazes me that what was so futuristic to me is now just history to my grandson… 😐 Imagine people getting excited about paying $100K+ to do a sub orbital flight! I really thought that by now going to the Moon would be more common place.

@@Halo9K I don't think i can be much older than your grandson (16) so i think It wasnt just futuristic to you back then. Those rockets are still wayyy ahead of their time. @@sidv4615 It was jokingly said that every time a Saturn V lifted off, Florida sank a few inches. 😃 Yes, I do remember the Shuttle flights. Honestly I tested the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max for a week before sending them both back for a 13 mini 512gb. The battery test I did between the 13 mini and 13 Pro were so close I wondered why the 13 Pro was so heavy? It was only within 3% difference between tasking the 13 Pro vs the 13 mini. This was streaming Disney+ for 3 hours and checking email, streaming Spotify, etc… At the end of the day the 13 mini was at 40% and the 13 Pro was at 48%. This only makes the 13 mini look so much more impressive since it’s size and weight is a fraction to the 13 Pro at 204 grams.

I have the iPhone 12 mini and I’ve had this phone for almost 2 years now. When I decided to move to a smaller phone with a smaller battery I knew that a compromise how do you made. So I made sure I had battery packs to charge if necessary in the middle of the day or charging cable in my work truck or charging cable in my car. Having a small phone does have its drawbacks but if you accommodate yourself A small phone will work just fine nowadays people have battery packs to charge or a place to plug into it’s not like it was 10 years ago. The next iPhone I get will be the iPhone 13 mini because it’s the last of a small phone breed. So I will enjoy the small form factor for a few more years before I am forced to unfortunately get a bigger phone because these phones won’t last forever! Coincidentally by the way to save the battery life turn the screen time option off in the settings because otherwise it’s going to be assessing every single task you use the phone on 24 hours a day etc. So you wanna save battery turn that Screen Time feature off clearly otherwise it’s like I said calculating every single option setting whatever you do on the phone it’s running in the background trying to assess and give you the computational information. It clearly saves battery by disabling it

using a 5w charger will help in keep your battery health to 100 for longer time as compared to using 20w charger...simply because because fast charge produce more heat and more heat destroy the cell bind molecules hence degrades battery storage capacity.

If we say most people wake up 2-3 hours later than you and don’t do as much KZbin and gaming in an average day, the phone probably lasts quite a bit longer. Appreciate you are showing an authentic day in your life and that’s fine. Would like you to have just used the phone completely authentically without cutting back on anything but with a few power saving tactics enabled e.g. 4g, dark mode, no background app refresh to see how long it lasted without purposefully cutting back on certain apps e.g. spotify, actively trying to make it last longer.

makes sense to use the phone (other than the testing purposes) since he sits too close to the bigger screens..

Great content!! I went from a 11pm to a 12 mini and it hurt my eyes and gave me a headache. I have a 11 now and I’m wondering if I should give the 13 mini a try again.

Maybe you were sensitive to the OLED screen of the iphone 12. Some people get headaches from it because it works uses PWM. Keeping the screen as bright as possible helps with that!

See my above reply. You should absolutely get the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Batteries 10 hours of battery life with high intensity test. The cameras amazing. The 120 Hz display is silky smooth and enjoy to use

Why is none of the battery test videos have the low power mode on? Isn’t it basic.

Having a phone with the brightness turned up all the way for most of the day is really not good especially if you use your phone a lot. It will strain the eyes way more then just looking at the sun.

Maybe we should limit using our mobile device so much lol
