For anyone even thinking about getting this case GET IT! I’ve returned so many cases, trying to find THE ONE over the last couple months. The apple leather case felt nice but after one drop literally had holes in it. I wanted something that felt good in hand, was slim and could protect my phone on readable Drops. This Pitaka case is all of that and more. It’s PERFECT. Just get it.

So just got mine in for the 12PM but ordered the 13PM as the 12PM is the old design. Honestly, it feels very very similar to my Spigen Thin Fit w/ the ESR mag ring attachment. The corners of the Pitaka are reinforced where the Spigen is not. Button feel and travel almost the same. thinness of the case the same. fit the same. i actually think the spigen case has more grip and with the "rounded" edges vs the very 90 degrees edges of Pitaka, the Spigen, IMO wins cost and functionality. BUT you have to get the ESR Mag ring and that, on some magsafe chargers can heat up so.......trade-offs.

First and Foremost, this case looks GORGEOUS. I have been using this case for weeks and The reason I’m disappointed is for 2 reasons: It's because of the new MagEZ system and the edges. The 13 series case took away the metal plates to accommodate for the MagSafe magnets this year (which was missed for the 12 series). This means that the MagEZ 2.0 system is not compatible with the MagEZ 1.0 accessories. If you have/use the Pitaka car mount (which I have used and my friend uses), you would have to get the new car mount that supports the MagEZ 2.0 system. I know that Pitaka could have both the metal plates and the MagSafe magnets in a hybrid/slim body case because the MagEZ Pro 2 case for the iPhone 12 has them. So I don’t understand that decision to go with JUST MagSafe magnets and not both. The second reason I am disappointed in this case is because the edges are SHARP. This case digs into my hand when holding it and it’s SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE. I wish they would have rounded the edges like Spigen did with the Thin Fit or The MagEZ Case 2. I normally don’t scoff at the pricing but for this? $65 is pretty steep. All in all, this is the case I have been waiting on but I am super disappointed in this case. I just switched back to the MagEZ Case 2 because it’s comfortable as hell.
@TechnicallyTee3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that for sure with the 1.0 plates. Yeah the sharp edges are uncomfortable for sure and if they rounded them out just a tad it would be perfect because I can deal with the smudges.
@Richard_Barnes3 жыл бұрын
I’ve used Pitaka for 6 years. I’ve now gone MagSafe so I no longer use mine. They don’t make a decent MagSafe case for the 12 Pro Max. So in the car I use an air vent MagSafe magnet holder but charge my iPhone by cable. Let’s face it, fast charging via the cable whilst you drive is far more useful than a wireless or MagSafe charger. I want battery charge not aesthetics. 🙂👍🏻
@Liyads3 жыл бұрын
Hey aside from the smoother edges. What’s the differences between mag ez 2.0 to this new mag ez case?
@johnwilliamsoniii39363 жыл бұрын
@@Liyads The main difference is that the MagEZ 2 case is slim and it doesn't cover the top, bottom, and the buttons on the phone where are the MagEZ Pro does. Also, the edges on the MagEZ 2 case edges are a bit curved which makes it easier to hold whereas the edges on the MagEZ Pro case (to me) are sharp and hella uncomfortable.

Yeah it is a little sharp! I had it for about a week coming from the nomad modern leather case and I find that initially it’s a “hand-shock” and feels super sharp and uncomfortable. I actually was going to go back to the nomad, but after sticking it out for a few days, my hands got adjusted and mentally I don’t think about it really at all. Similar to how the 12 series iPhones felt different and kinda uncomfortable, coming from rounded edges. It’s something that you’ll get use it. Side note: I do wish from the start the edges were a little more rounded.

I absolutely love the regular MagEZ case for my iPhone 11 Pro Max. The way it feels and how little it takes away from the original elegance of the phone is just fantastic. I have dropped it several times though and the tempered glass protector broke pretty much every time and I also have a visible scratch at the the top. With this Pro version I am pretty sure that both of those things won‘t happen again after I‘m gonna buy it together with next year‘s iPhone 15 Pro Max, so that I get the feel of an almost brand new phone for the next 4 years after that until that phone goes to my parents. Pitaka=Forget it. Horrible supply chain issues not as amazing as ppl think it is. For example, if you drive a Ferrari but can't afford to maintain it what's the point. Yes this case is sexy as hell but there are way better protective cases for half the price. If a case doesn't have reinforced corners you will break glass or danage your phone, period. So if you want to deal with the headaches of replacing glass or your entire phone keep buying unrienforced cases. Or just look like the guy driving a tore back car they can't afford to repair. Great honest review. Protect your $1k phone and get something with reinforced corners.

DO NOT BUY Mag EZ Pro Case for the iPhone 13 Pro Max!!! This case it PEALS after a FEW months!!! It is not like the Pro Case for the 11 iPhone Pro Max. The front rim has a thin matte coating that feels great but will peal off quickly. More effort was spent on making the cardboard box it comes in.
