My iPhone 14 pro max photos looks fine when clicking the picture and looking from camera, but after I take the photo and see it, after 1 or 2 seconds it auto processes it making the photo overly sharp and bright and ruining the photo, am I only one with this problem? Please somebody let me know. Update: This is actually not a problem and a default feature/part that Apple calls The Photonic Engine and you can't turn it off, they think they're making the pictures look better 💀

@@bbyonghatyu so guys I read something and found a fix to this. So according to this article this is something that we can’t change. It’s factory or something like that but if you spam your photos on Live Photos and choose another key photo it looks better

I upgraded from 8Plus to 14Pro. Definitely the image quality is way different. But I kept noticing how 14Pro distorts the image too much, like it elongates subjects which are very noticeable if there are corners. Also it blurs too much, very irritating when trying to take photo of detailed subject.

Well depending mine sometimes look dark. Like I have softboxes being used, I take the photo and it looks fine while I’m taking it then I look at the image and its dark and it’s been sharpen too much

I went to a concert and there was harsh lighting, red and blue lights and the camera on Iphone14 pro max over saturated the picture, on zoom the video was out of focus and the video was over exposed. I saw others using a Samsung and the video was beautiful. There's something wrong with the Iphone 14 pro max over processing the video. I'm not happy and looking for how to turn off this post processing.

Make a picture on in RAW and just crop a little on the sides, then you have the normal quality without the weird processing of the picture :)

I'm noticing that the 14 Pro Max camera is giving off a blue cast and doesn't look as attractive as older phones that look more true to what the naked eye is seeing... could this be a setting I have turned on? The Photographic Styles setting offers 5 styles with different combos of tone & warmth. Maybe one of those would be more to your liking? The Preserve Settings offers the ability to lock your Exposure Adjustment if you want to always keep it at the last setting. Otherwise, you can hold your finger on your screen for a few seconds after you set the exposure to lock it.

Preserve Settings now has an option to preserve the Macro Control setting. So you can permanently have it off now without having to toggle it every time.

Unless I missed it in another video I would like to point out that pictures will not be in 48MP unless you are shooting them in 4:3. 16:9 photos will be 36MP

4:3 is what the image will be shot at. Any additional information is an image from other lenses for better framing

I had gotten the iPhone 13 pro and returned it for the regular 14 because of the crazy macro lens switching. Very frustrating as I am a photographer and I run my business predominantly through instagram. I enjoy sometimes using instagram filters and rely on filming directly through instagram (instead of the phones camera app) for the convenience and quickly sharing my work process. The macro lens on the 13 pro did that crazy glitching-lens switch situation when filming through IG app, even with the macro lens on the phones software turned off. Is this the experience with the 14 pro as well? Apple and Instagram could not give me an answer whether or not the 14 pro would have this issue, therefore I had to go with the iPhone 14 and not the pro which super limits my photography options and is such a bummer. 😒

If you enable the switch to macro feature the lens will not automatically switch. And will present a flower icon when close enough to manually switch if you’d like.

I just got 14 pro also for my business and just setup the camera setting exactly same way in Steve video right now BUT my question is this: Are these settings good for sharing hight quality IG videos/reels ? I do take lots of videos to share them on IG (1080 at 30fps) but I think when I share them on IG I do not think look 1080. They looks more blurry. @Brittany do you record with your iphone and directly upload from your phone to IG ? I'm try to make page more pro and high quality videos like 4K :) Please help! @@ml5406 I ended up getting the regular 14 not the pro because of what I mentioned above. I do film directly off of IG (it’s not blurry) and couldn’t handle how the macro lens would kick in causing the video to “glitch” on the pro series. Therefore I ended up getting the regular 14.

Hi, so I have 14 pro and this is my third 14 pro first 2 phones camera was freezing when I was recording videos and apple replaced the first 2 then this third was was doing ok till last update 16.4.1 after I updated my phone my camera start getting blurry at nights when I go to club. When im recording a video with the main lense then get up close to something the macro is enabled, BUT when I move back out to use the main lense the macro mode doesnt switch back to the main lense leaving things pretty blurry. any thoughts?

If you are using the built in camera app, in the record video section of the camera settings you can scroll to the bottom and enable lock camera to ensure the cameras aren’t switched while recording. Ideally it would switch back to the main lens, but that may be a bug. Ensure you’ve updated to the latest version of iOS and if the issue persists report it.

When I've had a Pixel phone their processing gave me accurate indoor color but the iPhone doesn't with just point and shoot. I have noticed this as well. I end up correcting my photos whether on my iPhone or Pixel in Lightroom. Hopefully there’s an iOS update soon that can correct this.

As of right now it seems like cinematic mode only works at 24 and 30fps. Additionally it doesn’t look like the cinematic mode api is open to 3rd party apps or at least the apps I use like filmic don’t seem to have support for that. If I come across a work around I’ll let you know!
