I can see flagship phones lasting ten years in the near future with the slowing down of tech and the fact that even apple is selling phones for up to three generates which is great. I’m still rocking my 11 Pro Max since launch. Battery health is at 92% and the phone is in perfect condition. One of the main reasons I decided to keep it for this long is that iPhone prices in South Africa is insane, a 512GB 14 Pro Max is about $1944 (South African retail price converted to US Dollars). I’ll see what the 15 series of iPhones has to offer though as I am after ProMotion and better cameras… your video proved I made the right decision to hold off… for now.

@@Mhavid26 It’s still on 92% with iOS 16.4.1… Here are my battery care habits: I’ve never let the battery drop below 45%, I top up the charge occasionally during a busy day. Optimised Battery Charging is on. Phone is not exposed to very high/low temperatures. If I use Apple CarPlay, I keep the phone on charge via Lightning cable in my car. I don’t use wireless chargers.

I have just done this upgrade. One thing he didn't mention and is hurting me is the hall sensor was removed after the 11, so the 14 has no auto lock and unlock when you open/close a folio case.

I upgraded from 11 to 14pro. It’s scheduled to be deliver today but, not yet. However, I wanted to stick with 11 but, the pro is definitely what I needed so gave a chance why not 14pro since  and reseller stores don’t have 13Pro in stock here in AU. My take on dynamic island will be stay on for next 2 years where the notch might get smaller and better by then will upgrade to the best one down the lane. I always appreciate your thoughts and are meaningful. 😊

Moving further, i used 14pro since then and I encounter decision fatigue because I was thinking that 14pro max will be better for long and good battery life as per my workflow and consumption. But, honesty m happy now with the decision to get pro, the size, the dynamic island is grown on me and battery life is phenomenal too as it goes on for 1d6hrs with 50% still left!

Thanks for the informative comparison - I don't think there is a major difference between the 11 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max, the upgraded differences are minor spec bumps and I guess it goes to show, given how old the 11 Pro Max is that it can still hold up well. If anyone has the budget for the latest and greatest, by all means go for the 14 Pro Max. I have decided I will just replace my 11 Pro Max battery as it's currently at 82% capacity and will evaluate whether to upgrade next year.

I’ve had both and upgraded from the 13 pm to the 14 pro. I love the 13 pm and 14 pro for their 120hz refresh rate. And the 11 pm for the weight and round edges. I’ve been upset about selling it… because i’ve had to buy a business phone, and stuck with the basic 11 for business. Anyhow: i love the pro models

I didn’t come from the 11 PM, rather a flagship Android, the S21 Ultra. Every 2-4 years I upgrade from Android to Apple, or vice versa. Absolutely love the 14 PM. I used the standard iPhone 11 and thought it was good, but with all the new added features, I think the 14 PM is fantastic. The Dynamic Island is interesting and fun to use, but I really have a gripe against the light that can make it look really ugly in high lit conditions. But the camera and other things like pro motion make it better. I’ll probably have this phone for a while, can’t wait to see what new stuff comes in the coming years!

The 11 Pro Max was the best looking iPhone ever made to me. Even though I own an iPhone 13 Pro Max, I am a fan of the round bezels. I hate the boxy sharp angles of the 12+ models. If someone made an 11 Pro Max body which was able to accept the 13 Pro Max internals, I totally would go that route.

HOLY CRAP! I just commented on an old video of yours where you compare every iPhone from the SE to the 12 Pro asking you to do a comparison of all the pro models from the 11 to the new 14. I really only asked you to make that video to see this exact comparison because I still have my 11 Pro since it’s release date and I didn’t think any of the iPhones released after the 11 Pro brought anything new or special to the table to make me upgrade even after my free 2 year upgrade was available. But now since my phones old and starting to act old lol I feel like the 14 Pro has enough Pros for me to make the upgrade. Just upgraded from the 11 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max. After 2 days, the best upgrade is the 120 hz display. Definitely much better. I also do like the slightly bigger/brighter display and the improved cameras. But honestly other than that, the upgrades are very slight and if your 11 Pro Max is running like a champ like mine was, I'd hold off upgrading for another year.

I keep my 11 pro 256Gb. I think camera on both is pretty good. Speakers does sound slightly better on 14 pro and may be louder but in normal day use you don’t play speakers super loud do you?! Also I heard people complain about cameras on new 14 pro as apparently they’re not as good as people would expect. I have taken some really good photos on my 11 pro through all these years I own it and I’m happy with the quality overall. Let’s wait till next September and see what apple brings to the table.

Upgraded from 11 Pro Max 512 to 14 Pro Max 512. Noticed a difference in terms of performance, probably because of the ProMotion display. Camera image quality is a lot better as well. Battery life is also a big improvement from the 11 Pro Max. Magsafe is also a killer feature for me. If only it had USB-C, then it would probably a no brainer for future proofing. No regrets upgrading so far.

I had to hand my 11 PM down to a family member so I had no choice but to buy the latest and greatest to ensure I can keep it for as long as I can. It was worth it though. Lots of upgrades from the 11 PM. And for the first time in a long time, Apple made something original and playful with the Dynamic Island.

I updated from the 11 pro max to the 14 pro max. And it is noticeably bigger and heavier. But it was a much needed upgrade. The battery last a bit longer and the screen is noticeably brighter. The screen also scrolls so much faster and smoother. And since i travel a lot for a living the 5g connectivity is way faster the LTE. Dynamic island is cool but not worth upgrading for yet.

Honestly, if it wasn’t for my battery depleting more and more, I think I would just stay with the same exact iPhone for a good couple of years at least (maybe 4) , but because my battery gets worse and worse as time passes (especially by the 2nd year). I end up doing the whole upgrade instead of just swapping the battery 😅

At first, I was gunna go with 14 Pro Max w/ 256GB in Purple but unfortunately due supply shortage every Apple Store is unavailable in stores nor store pickup. So I had to do delivery til December 15 or long. I couldn’t wait any longer ghost know how long will they restock or not. I went with 13 Pro Max instead of waiting.

Hi! Thank you for the video! The video itself is perfect but I'm pretty sure that it would've looked and shown the difference between the photos and videos if it was an HDR video. Specially since the main difference between those two are the cameras. Maybe you can make such videos in HDR? It's sad, that almost nobody these days makes HDR videos on youtube. Only 9to5mac does sometimes.

I would love to but KZbin takes 24 hours or more for hdr to show and sometimes even longer so it’s not worth it most of the time.

I’m also upgrading from 11 Pro Max Space grey to 14 Pro Max deep purple. I have to say the 14 Pro Max design looks a bit more luxurious but not a huge difference. The biggest difference is the display, dynamic island and the camera. Both phones have amazing experience on watching HDR or Dolby vision videos but the 14 Pro Max looks a bit more saturated and colourful but not a huge difference. However, the 14 Pro Max looks so much brighter under the sun ( 800 nits compared to 2000 nits) also the dynamic island is a really interesting function but sometimes it looks a bit distracting. Like when you having screen recording, the screen capture the island which looks very annoying, but generally it’s a nice function. The animation switched between apps with the island looks fluid and satisfying. The speaker on both phones are great but the 14 Pro Max is so much better in every single way. For the camera, both captures great photos on daylight but the 14 looks a bit more saturated under sunlight. The ultra wide camera performs much better in every condition also it can now capture on low light conditions which is really nice . The stabilisation of video recording on both phones are excellent the 14 Pro does has a bit more stabilised but not a really huge difference so I think definitely a huge upgrade and I think this time it’s worth upgrading.

I upgraded to the 14 Pro from the 11 Pro Max, it still had a lot of life left though. Cameras are a huge difference & dynamic island is proving to be useful. Nothing mind blowing but definitely well welcomed features.

Very tough to see the difference. I guess it's distinguishable only in the low light circumstances and when you crop in the picture. 14 pro probably maintains more detail, but when you look the picture without cropping it, it's literally down to personal preference.

I just had this SOS only bug over the weekend and still having issues with call and text notifications sounds not always going off. Missing phone calls from my boss at work from it smh. Also sometimes delayed or not responsive lock/Home Screen, I’m running iOS 16.0.3 on iPhone 14 pro max. A few other bugs I have to but minor ones I’d say, example sometimes when I get notifications they are squared off rectangles and not rounded edges.

If you are thinking of a cheaper option(because iPhone 11s are still pretty expensive for how old they are, or you own an 11 pro max and think the 14 is a little expensive) I recommend the iPhone 13, if you can get that new or refurbished you will most likely get a overall better experience than what phone you're using, as long as you're not using a 12 Pro, 13 Pro, 12 pro max, 13 pro max, or you already bought any one of the 14 series.

I bought a Iphone 14 pro last month and I came from the 11. And it was a pretty huge upgrade for me. Love the 120hz and also the Oled display.
